Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s IT Infrastructure Teams are responsible for IT infrastructure (voice/data networks, firewalls, phone systems, video conference systems, proxy servers, DNS, domain controllers, WAN optimization controllers, monitoring software and security systems). They define, design and implement network communications and solution improvements. TE’s IT Infrastructure Teams also analyze, design, acquire and implement projects for LAN and/or WAN systems; plan, design, acquire and implement telecommunications voice/wire systems; propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for the development of standards, creation of best practices, and building of our server/storage/backup monitoring and automation infrastructure across TE globally. The individual in this role will need to have a relentless drive to utilize internal tools, process, and assisting other engineers to deliver scalable and reliable monitoring systems and automation environment.
The individual in this role is primarily understanding industry direction, developing our standards and best practices, delivering monitoring and automation platforms, and providing third level support


•    Operational support for the  all infrastructure related to the monitoring and alerting system 
•    Act as technical lead during related P1/P2 type incidents. Provides regular status updates to management and is able to translate technical details into layman terms for executive updates effectively
•    Key contributor in developing, defining and documenting standards as they relate to the monitoring platform with the goal to increase operational stability and efficiency
•    Identifies opportunities for automation in the monitoring infrastructure and works with peer teams to develop/implement within the environment
•    Participates in vendor meetings to understand and implement new technologies that will provide benefit to TE while keeping cost in mind
•    Provides oversight and participates in developing monitoring standard and alerts, collaborating with other teams
•    Often acts as lead or key contributor to multiple projects running in parallel
•    Able to identify tasks and prioritize accordingly to deliver on short term and long-term activities
•    Collaborates across other infrastructure teams and external partners to align infrastructure and related processes to deliver a service-based IT infrastructure. Leverages those resources to ensure alignment to the larger GEIS strategy/roadmap.
•    Provides training and mentorship to other professional employees
•    Strong knowledge across multiple technologies including SolarWinds, VMWare and Tools, automation tools
•    Solid understanding of various supporting technologies to the infrastructure stack including storage, network, operating system, virtualization, and backup/recovery solutions
•    Confident working in a large, global, follow the sun support organization, being able to clearly communicate and collaborate with team members


- Generally, requires bachelor’s degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 5 years of experience; Master’s degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred
