HR Data Engineer

Job Overview

The HR Systems and Workforce Analytics teams manage TE's HR Technology. They build, implement and continuously improve global HR systems, data, reporting and analytics platform. They also develop custom reports to meet business requirements, monitor HR systems and analytics needs and provide technology and analytics solutions by designing new or modifying existing systems.

Job Background:

TE Connectivity currently has an opportunity within its HR Solution function for a HR Data Engineer. This role will be focused on supporting the delivery of the data engineering strategy for HR.

This role is critical in managing data pipelines, data transformation and data modelling to support the delivery of actionable insights via our data analytics team. You will also help connect and build out our data governance platform using Colibra.
 
You will be reporting to the Head of HR Digital and working within a HR data insights team including, BI Consultants, Data Engineers and Data governance resources.
 

Responsibilities:

Consulting
•    Act as a point of contact to assigned data engineering duties.
•    Seek to understand data engineering opportunities.
•    Scope, Prioritize and Capture clear statements of work.
Prototype
•    Turn requirements into prototypes to demonstrate clarity of design and purpose.
•    Seek feedback and commitment in approach before investing time in delivery.
•    Be comfortable in iterating and working collaboratively with stakeholders. 
Data Pipeline Management
•    Create data pipeline backlog ensuring clarity in purpose.
•    Design with the customer in mind, seeking to deliver usable data models.
•    Work with BI and Data scientist to deliver workable data models,
Data Management
•    Define, document and deliver metrics that are standard and usable.
•    Work your peers to have new metrics embedded in global data models.
•    Maintain data dictionaries to assist in ensuring clarity and purpose.
Technical / User Support
•    Provide break fix solutions and look at ways to reduce incidents.
•    Ensure users adopt new products through coaching, mentoring and enablement.
•    Work with enablement teams to create content and supporting guides.
Technology/Process
•    Be passionate in learning tools, methods and approaches to deliver effective data models.
•    Trail, demo and give input into improving the Tech stack used to deliver insights.
Educate
•    Coach and mentor internal team members and external HR team members.
•    Help build a HR Data Driven culture through understanding and interrupting data.
 

Skills:

•    3-5 years’ knowledge of BI tools and concepts.
•    3-5 years’ experience in data modelling, data pipeline management.
•    Expert in data modelling, data pipelines and data management.
•    3-5 years’ experience using ETL,ELT tools.
•    3-5 years’ experience using MuleSoft, Informatica or Talend.
•    Effective in translating requirements into workable data models.
•    Experience in using Tableau, Power BI or related BI Tools.
•    Experience in working with SAP SuccessFactors, Workday or related HCM platforms.
•    Experience with Cloudera, Amazon Web Services or others data lake platforms.
•    Prior experience delivering and working in Human Resources function.
