TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.



•    Lead a team of FAEs for a geographic region and/or key accounts. 
•    Provide senior technical leadership on Customer Focus Teams for three Tier 1 accounts
•    Provide senior technical leadership on selected T2 accounts and selected channel focus customers. 
•    Drive & Manage regional pipeline reviews versus measurement metrics
•    Represent TE engineering to customer and represent customer to internal TE
•    Represent FAE team to Senior Management and Leadership Team
•    Coordinate with global FAE and account teams for projects where necessary
•    Coordinate with global FAE management to foster team collaboration, leverage skills, and further development of FAE team
•    Increase TE product content in the products that their target customer designs and/or manufactures
•    Create good working relationships with customer’s engineering team and those who impact design decisions
•    Work very closely with account managers and GAMs so that all issues, both technical and sales related are handled quickly and seamlessly
•    Identify and provide feedback with System Architecture team to Product Management and Development Engineering as to the design challenges faced by customers relative to new products needed, gaps in the existing product portfolio, or lacking features/performance in existing products.
•    Understand assigned customer’s equipment design and requirements
•    Utilize 3D CAD software to successfully demonstrate to the customer how TE solutions can meet their needs on new projects
•    Develop FAE team to have a working knowledge of signal integrity and understand basic electrical performance measures such as impedance, cross talk, throughput, differential signaling vs. single ended, etc.
•    Develop the FAE team to become the first point of technical contact for key customer engineers. This can include trouble shooting existing products, interpreting drawings or specifications, creating 3D customer view models for products that TE does not yet have a customer view model, acting as a liaison with TE quality engineers, etc.

What your background should look like:


•    Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer with strong mechanical skills
•    Have the ability to work independently
•    Familiarity of the connector industry a plus
•    Familiarity of Data and Devices Business Unit customers and their products a plus
•    Self-starter with strong initiative 
•    Good communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Ability to develop design concepts and options with limited direction and/or requirements.
•    Management and/or team leadership experience
•    Demonstrated mechanical design skills using 3D CAD software, Creo (Pro/Engineer) and SpaceClaim proficiency a strong plus
