Inside Sales Manager - Energy Products (focusing on Cable Accessories & Smart Grid)
At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
Job Overview
This role is about more than managing a team — it is about designing a new function with senior leadership, transforming the long-tail customer base into a strategic growth driver, and establishing the model for Inside Sales success across MEA.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Inside Sales Manager to build and lead our inside sales function in the cable accessories market, focusing on joints, terminations, and smart grid solutions.
This newly established function will transform the long-tail customer base — smaller and emerging accounts — into a growth powerhouse for our business. Far from being a “small job,” this is a strategic initiative to unlock the magnificent potential of overlooked customers across MEA, complementing our focus on large utilities, OEMs, and EPCs.
The Inside Sales Manager will not only lead a growing team (starting with 2 direct reports, scaling to 5–6) but will also work directly with senior leadership and peers across Sales, Marketing, and Technical functions to design and shape the future of the Inside Sales organization in MEA. This role provides clear visibility to top management and the opportunity to create the playbook for how inside sales drives growth across the region.
Job Requirements
-
Leadership & Team Building
- Lead, mentor, and scale the inside sales team from 2 to 5–6 direct reports.
- Build a culture of customer focus, agility, and growth mindset.
Customer Engagement & Growth
- Develop tailored engagement strategies for long-tail customers, EPCs, and OEMs, turning smaller accounts into strategic contributors.
- Position the inside sales team as a trusted partner for customers in the energy transition journey.
Strategic Market Development & Organizational Design
- Drive the transformation of fragmented long-tail accounts into structured growth engines, maximizing market share.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional peers to cultivate best practices, shape processes, and establish the inside sales organization as a core growth pillar in MEA.
Sales Performance & Pipeline Management
- Define and manage forecasts, pipelines, and closure plans to consistently exceed growth targets.
- Direct outbound and inbound sales activities to generate opportunities and accelerate customer acquisition.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work hand-in-hand with Account Managers, Marketing, and Technical teams to capture synergies and maximize customer impact.
- Ensure seamless order processing, delivery, and customer experience excellence.
Insights & Reporting
- Monitor market dynamics and competitor activities to anticipate shifts and capture opportunities.
- Maintain CRM discipline, generate actionable reports, and provide insights to management with full transparency.
What your background should look like
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: 6–7 years in power/electrical systems, with at least 3 years in inside sales or account management.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and grow teams; experience in scaling sales structures.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building; CRM and reporting proficiency.
- Attributes: Strategic thinker, customer-oriented, proactive, and collaborative leader.
Additional Information
- Work Environment: Office-based role with occasional customer visits.
- Compensation: Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
- Career Growth: Opportunity to shape and scale a critical new department, co-create the inside sales model with senior leadership, and gain direct visibility to top managemen
