Job Description: 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the global transport control tower, ensuring full visibility of all international shipments, routes, exceptions, and overall transport performance.
  • Ensure proactive detection of issues such as shipment delays, capacity disruptions, force majeure events, port congestion, strikes, vessel cancellations, and any other factors impacting transit time commitments.
  • Communicate timely alerts on transportation risks and service impacts to stakeholders across regions and functions.
  • Monitor real time transportation flows using P44, TE’s real time visibility platform, to ensure on time and accurate end to end tracking.
  • Lead and manage global freight forwarders to deliver agreed service levels and operational performance standards.
  • Conduct hyper care operational reviews (weekly or monthly where necessary) with carriers and internal teams to enhance service performance.
  • Identify carrier performance deviations and drive corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Lead BU level transportation service performance analysis, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee data quality and timeliness of freight forwarder reporting to ensure accuracy in analytics and decision making.
  • Maintain and update the global Transit Time reference tables (air & ocean) after each RFQ and ensure alignment with Analytics for OTDT analysis.
  • Engage closely with Procurement, Analytics, Regional Transportation, and Business Units, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Drive global initiatives and automation projects to enhance service levels, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Serve as the central point of escalation for all international carrier performance issues across regions.
  • Lead quarterly performance reviews with international carriers, ensuring continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Control Tower analysts, building capability and operational excellence within the team.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in transport operations experience from a manufacturing, logistics or freight forwarding industry, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience with multi modal transportation (air, ocean, express & road) is preferred for global roles.
  • Experience in a cross-functional, regional or global role.
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure, real-time operational environments.
  • Knowledge in SAP.
  • Experience with KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma is a plus)
