Job Overview

The Account Manager - Industrial (m/f/d) is responsible for driving profitable growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and strengthening the company’s position as a trusted partner within the industrial market environment. The role is accountable for the commercial development of assigned industrial customers, OEMs, machine builders, and channel partners across a defined territory, customer portfolio, or market segment.
In this role, the Account Manager (m/f/d) serves as the primary commercial interface for assigned accounts and is responsible for identifying, developing, and converting business opportunities into sustainable revenue and margin growth. The position combines strategic account leadership, demand generation, pipeline management, and disciplined commercial execution to achieve long-term customer retention and account expansion.
The Account Manager (m/f/d) collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, product management, customer service, supply chain, quality, and operations to ensure the effective execution of customer strategies, commercial priorities, and business commitments.

Job Requirements

  • Build, maintain, and further develop long-term, trust-based relationships with key strategic customers and decision-makers
  • Proactively identify customer needs, business opportunities, and industrial application areas
  • Drive demand generation by effectively positioning products, solutions, and services in target markets
  • Systematically grow existing accounts and develop new business opportunities (cross-selling and upselling)
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine strategic account plans including growth initiatives
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer potential to derive commercial strategies
  • Own opportunity management, pipeline development, and forecasting using CRM tools
  • Prepare and negotiate quotations, pricing structures, and commercial agreements in line with company guidelines
  • Manage RFQs, projects, and customer escalations in close collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g. engineering, logistics, service)
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as revenue, margin, forecast accuracy, and receivables, and provide regular reporting

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in industrial/ technical sales, key account management, or business development in an industrial environment
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand business models and market dynamics
  • Technical affinity with the ability to confidently engage in complex industrial applications and solutions
  • Proven experience in strategic account planning and structured opportunity management
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills across all organizational levels
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and a customer- and results-driven approach
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
