Senior Manager Customer Pricing

Pricing is organized as a shared service for the businesses and closely aligned with both the Product Management and Sales teams. The Global Pricing Team has general responsibility for optimizing book, agreement, and competitive pricing across all sales channels.

The Customer Pricing Senior Manager in the Industrial Pricing organization will be responsible for leading broad and value-driven customer pricing initiatives. As part of their assignment, they will have responsibility for the Customer Agreement Pricing Team which manages over $500M in global sales. This is a unique role because of its exposure to all aspects of pricing and extensive work with other functional teams in the business. This leader will drive a value-based pricing philosophy across the broader organization focused on identifying, capturing, and communicating value. They will participate in creating an industry-leading pricing team where value generation and price optimization are the cornerstones.

The candidate will form trusted relationships with senior leaders and advise on pricing matters to drive business growth and optimize performance. The ideal candidate is at the intersection of strong strategic and analytical thinking combined with leadership skills to inspire change. Most importantly, the candidate will deliver through strong relationships and excellent communication to reach alignment across teams. The candidate must possess a collaborative spirit, excellent commercial acumen, and a hands-on leadership style.

The successful candidate will be part of the Pricing Leadership Team and report to the Pricing Director. 

First Year Success Factors

•    Participate in successful roll out a value-based price philosophy across the organization.
•    Lead the Agreement Pricing Team in strengthening the commercial cadence and profitable growth of price agreements using a value-based pricing approach. 
•    Partner with the Product Pricing Teams to institutionalize value-based book pricing methodologies with the application of attribute-based pricing where appropriate.
•    Ensure proper analytics & KPIs exist to drive value-based behaviors and expected results.
•    Represent Industrial on the corporate Apex (PROS) cloud migration project. 

What your background should look like:

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a talented business professional with at least five years of senior-level Pricing experience in a global business. Additional background working in Sales or Product Management would be ideal. The candidate will be experienced working in a fast-based and demanding global environment. They will have a track record of successfully leading large and complex projects across a global organization. This will include experiences on cross-functional teams and examples of building partnerships with Product Management, Sales, Finance, and other functional areas of the business.  They will have a natural aptitude for bringing people together across geographies and functions to drive actions. The ideal candidate will be viewed as a good listener and creative thinker. The candidate will have significant experience in developing plans and implementation approaches that consistently deliver on project objectives. They will bring a sense of urgency to the pricing organization, will lead by example, and take personal ownership in assignments. They will be an inspiring person who will hold themselves and their teams accountable for achieving world-class pricing status.

The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements: 
 
•    Deep knowledge of value-based pricing concepts, methodologies, and related processes
•    Broad understanding of the commercial RFQ process and integrating value-based methodologies to build winning quote packages
•    Working knowledge of pricing practices in the electronic distribution channel including how to optimize price structures 
•    Analytical thinker capable of interpreting complex data to solve the most difficult commercial issues
•    Exceptional project management and communication skills
•    Experience with SAP and/or Advanced Pricing Software (PROS preferred) 
•    Experience implementing value-based pricing in a high-tech manufacturing company 

An undergraduate degree in business, economics, or comparable work experience is required. An MBA is highly desired.
