Senior Payroll Specialist

Job Overview

TE's Payroll teams prepare, document and disburse payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments. They evaluate current systems, and recommend and develop operating efficiency improvements. They also serve as liaison to employees and third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies, monitor and ensure proper documentation of employee benefit payments and deductions and prepare reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including items such as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements.

The Payroll Analyst is a key stakeholder in our team and will provide centralised Payroll & HR support to the Netherlands HR team. The HR team in the Netherlands support the Netherlands and the countries in EMEA with less then 100 employees. These countries are Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Nigeria, Norway, Saudi-Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, South-Africa, Sweden, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine. 
Key areas of responsibility include administration of, End to End Payroll for the Netherlands, Support Payroll in the smaller headcount countries and continuous improvement of processes. 

This full-time position may suit an experienced payroller who will work on operational day to day payroll work but has the freedom to work on improvement on the current way of working. You will have the opportunity to redesign the current structure of the set up with the payroll provider ADP in the Netherlands and the structure of supporting the payroll providers for the other countries.

This is a fast-paced role and will suit a driven, results oriented person with strong attention to detail. You will work in a friendly, diverse team and have the opportunity to grow your experience in a fast-moving multinational organisation. 

This role can be based in either of our TE Connectivity Netherlands or Belgium offices. 
 

Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Monthly end to end payroll cycle for circa 270 employees based in the Netherlands: Timely & accurate processing, calculations, reporting, distributions, and queries.
  • Monthly support to internal/external payroll providers for all smaller headcount countries.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, company and statutory regulations. 
  • Support by audits in all countries
  • Partners closely with payroll providers and HR team to ensure compliance practices
  • Actively participate in key projects in line with Payroll & HR strategy
  • First point of contact with the insurance, pension and broker vendors
  • Management of Payroll vendors
  • Collation of annual Band 6 Merit review data for submission
  • Yearly benefit uploads of all countries, annual bonus payments, applications 30% ruling and applications/extensions for immigration and work permits
  • Streamlining and continuous improvement of Payroll processes
  • Support on HR administration

Additional Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement

  • Investigate opportunities on “managed services” together with our payroll provider ADP for the Netherlands
  • Implement if applicable new payroll set up for the Netherlands
  • Investigate opportunities to work more efficient with all different internal/external payroll vendors for the smaller head count countries
  • Implement if applicable new payroll set up for all smaller headcount countries

What your background should look like:

Professional Experience        

  • Professional working experience in end to end Payroll processing for a medium-large company.
  • Experience in application of Payroll knowledge / best practice into business solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll legislation & future changes
  • Professional working experience in Payroll
  • Experience in a global matrix environment preferred.

 
Knowledge & Skills

  • Domain experience in end-to end payroll, including data management, metrics and measurement and operations
  • Proven experience in delivering process improvements.
  • Experience with information systems ADP, SAP SuccessFactors is a big plus
  • Results orientated, strong sense of urgency, proactive
  • Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international matrix organisation
  • Proven success delivering an Extraordinary Customer Experience
  • Experience working with consulting partners
  • Expert with MS office, Excel preferred, intermediate experience with MS Office, Word & PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of core HR and Payroll data elements
  • Strong quantitative, organisational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation & communication skills
  • Strong writing, editing & presentation skills in Dutch and English
  • Keeps abreast of all HR & Payroll regulatory related issues & ensures compliance
  • Experience working with Netherlands Payroll processes is a strong advantage
