Job Overview

TE Connectivity is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing and Process Development Engineer to represent ISG VAP Harnessing product development team in our manufacturing facility in Akron OH
Ideally, this individual will have experience in the manufacture and testing of electrical wiring harnesses to IPC standards (including soldering).  Experience in the assembly and testing of integrated systems -- which include relays, contactors, connectors and other electrical components -- is also desired.   Experience with Six-Sigma and manufacturing practices in an industrial environment is preferable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop manufacturing processes for harness assemblies, cables, and integrated systems.
  • Document assembly requirements through manufacturing instructions.
  • Collaborate between quality, development and production during first article builds.
  • Support and sometimes lead the resolution of quality issues and process deviations.

What your background should look like:

Minimum required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial environment involving harness/cable assembly, intricate soldering operations, and/or integrated system assembly.
  • Experience with 2D/3D drafting/modeling, and dimensioning/detailing of engineering prints.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and encourage cultural change.
  • Six Sigma Green belt training is a plus
  • Ability to travel to vendors and customers (up to 10%.)
