Job Overview
The AQE Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing advanced quality control methodologies, conducting root cause analysis, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Drives and facilitates Advance Quality and New Product Development projects to ensure that TE products meet or exceed customer requirements.
Responibilities:
- Work with cross‑functional teams to drive NPI as per APQP/LEANPD methodologyAct as the quality interface until product/process release. Ensure PRD completeness, customer requirements, and key/critical characteristics are defined.
- Participate in all design and gate reviews aligned with the project plan.
- Support Product Engineering in DFMEA and other risk analysis activities and ensure timely completion.
- Support design verification/validation activities and ensure DVP&R is completed as per plan.
- Lead/participate in PFMEA, DFM/DFA reviews with Manufacturing Engineering. Ensure completeness of PFC and PFMEA.
- Create and maintain Control Plans (Prototype/Pre-series/Series). Ensure alignment with PFMEA, PFC, and customer requirements.
- Define safe launch plans with control requirements and exit criteria.
- Ensure release of measurement systems (MSA) in line with project timelines.
- Ensure validation and capability approval of production equipment and tools.
- Ensure release of external components before final product approval.
- Support internal run@rate with Manufacturing/Operations.
- Ensure completeness of customer release documents (FAI, PPAP, PSW, etc.) before SoP.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions (8D, Six Sigma, Shainin).
- Support scrap‑reduction initiatives with the project team.
- Conduct ad‑hoc audits and implement improvements for NPI quality.
- Ensure smooth handover from Development to Sustaining and prevent customer complaints.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Provide input for CI activities to support quality, cost reduction, and standardization.
- Escalate quality risks to the Quality Lead before gate approvals.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Engineer with university degree or equivalent with subject area: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or degree in physics
- 7+ years experience in Engineering and Project assignments
- It would be a plus experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing Operation (Quality Engineer in Operations or Quality Supervisor)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Specialized and profound knowledge in electronics, physics, mechanics, metal and plastics
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, Automotive Core Tools APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP and other risk analysis standards)
- Strong knowledge of quality management standards as VDA 6.3, IATF 16949, ISO 9001
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers
- Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with multi-cultural teams
- Strong ability to take decisions
- Good English knowledge, verbal and in writing (also for presenting)
- Green Belt / Black Belt (good to have)
What your background should look like
Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional level experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level.
