Utility Account Manager

Job Overview

The Utility Account Manager is the outside senior salesperson managing all aspects of the business with a strategic customer in a country or region. The Utility Account Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic account plan to drive maximum revenue, account penetration and customer satisfaction. To ensure complying services and project realization the position requires a close working relationship with multiple different functions within TE. It's crucial to drive cross-functional collaboration between Pricing, Quality, Customer Care, Engineering and the sales field resources to exceed customers service and support expectations.

Strategy for local Italian Utility customers, as well as Italian headquartered global operating corporations (ENEL) need to be followed and redefined to drive these and TE in their business to largest possible global success.

Business leadership, strategic key account planning and high-level relationship management are some of the major tasks.

What your background should look like:

Key Responsibilities

Develop Customer Relationship:

  • Increase executive relationships (including VP level) and large scale opportunities to partner with TE
  • Negotiate and implement (global) large contractual agreements (pricing, GPA, logistics, quality, etc.)
  • Own a yearly global negotiation process and process improvements
  • Regular interaction with the customer to follow up on quotes, projects, delivery and quality issues

Business Management:

  • Develop and execute the business plan and account strategy at a global level in line with customers time to market requirements
  • Drive completion of running opportunities/projects
  • Review and coordinate project activities and account receivables with account managers
  • Research and evaluation of customer market activities, internal and external data (markets, competition, technologies, trends) in order to understand how environmental, technical, political and other business changes will impact customer needs.
  • Create a solid project pipeline to ensure long term growth.

 

Main Requirements

  • Degree in business administration or engineering degree or equivalent level of practical experience
  • +10 years experience in Sales & Marketing level experience. Global experience is a plus; as well as management of global indirect teams
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Self-starter, able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision 
  • Have a professional and flexible approach 
  • Ability to confidently represent the company in a professional manner 
  • High level of written and verbal communication, English language skills, Spanish and Portuguese is a plus
  • Flexibility in working days and travelling
  • Valid driver’s license
