Job Overview

This team will be positioned to be responsible for recognizing and managing all customer demand and supply for products within their key customer assignments, and will be given a wide range of authority to drive improvements in delivery performance, quality, and customer service.  


They will work with MOG ( Marine, Oil, and Gas (MOG) Business Unit) and direct customer representatives of several functions including quoting, manufacturing, materials, sourcing and sales to ensure key customer orders and activities are prioritized appropriately.  This individual will be responsible for recognizing potential issues with the customers’ orders and subsequently rallying appropriate resources to ensure delivery and quality commitments are met.  A significant performance metric of this new role will be the delivery to customer commitment (schedule). 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with assigned Tier 1 and Tier 2 Customers order entry
  • Pro-active backlog reviews of assigned accounts to ensure operations schedule attainment
  • Provide regular customer updates
  • Regular reporting to Tier 1 and Tier 2 on progress for all deliverables (quotes, orders and Projects)
  • Host customer site visits and facilitate all communications with various site functions.
  • Track project plan milestones / job progress for more complex orders
  • Owner of, and coordination of expedited items and cancellation requests for Tier 1 and 2 customers
  • Facilitate and negotiate if necessary any requests from customers regarding inventory and logistic programs
  • Internal TE cross functional involvement to drive customer improvements and internal processing efficiencies
  • S&OP


  • Previous experience and knowledge working within the operations/materials/customer relationship within the Marine, Oil & Gas industry
  • Experience managing and working with substantial MOG customers
  • Ability and willingness to create and manage healthy conflict within a cross functional team and business unit for the purpose of improving customer service metrics
  • Prior roles in program demand management, materials planning and / or sales/customer service
  • SAP/DRP/MRP familiarity
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
