Job Overview

The Resident Engineer has to manage and control all activities into and within a regional business for a specific customer. The primary objective is to maximize business opportunities and to ensure that TE Connectivity is in prime position to grow and develop profitable sales.  

Responsibilities:

  • Resident Engineer for the DAF Trucks responsible for profitable sales growth, development of new business opportunities and maintaining customer satisfaction. 
  • Coordinate and report on local and wider European DAF Trucks requirements and link in with other Paccar companies and local TE Sales Representatives as required to support projects and future developments.
  • Through TERP generation and increased content per vehicle grow TE content at DAF Trucks beyond normal build rate levels.
  • Recognised as an expert in Developing and Selling TE products to DAF Trucks and other allocated local companies as required.
  • Has a specialist depth of knowledge in TE products and capabilities.
  • Builds a strong network of relationships at DAF Trucks companies.
  • Responsible for preparation of presentation, quotations and negotiations of specific projects as well as pricing of existing business with special focus of profitability and contracting with customers. 
  • Identify application areas where TE does not have a dominating position and define account coverage and product requirements.
  • Communicate results and account activity regularly and comprehensively as requested by the Global Account Manager, the Regional Sales Manager and the Senior Management team.
  • Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Regularly reports on significant Truck and Bus market activities generally and at the OEM.

Requirements:

  • Typically, Engineering degree
  • Additionally, B.S or B.A qualifications would be an advantage
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in Engineering, Product or Project Management.
  • Good understanding of Automotive OEM process.
  • Good TE product knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of trends / competition / technology that will influence products and sales 
  • Strong problem solving, strategic and tactical thinking, and analytical skills 
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken – German would be an advantage.  
  • Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels 
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international matrix organisation
  • Car driving license necessary. 
  • Position requires flexibility regarding travelling. Some international travel will be required.
