Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Responsibilities & Qualifications


Primary Job Roles and Duties:

  • Responsible for developing / monitoring / sourcing, manufacturing processes for cable assemblies, including high voltage, RF, twisted pair, discrete wire, coax, and jacketed cables for the Industrial Vehicle market.
  •  Works with cable assembly product/quality engineering to develop processes in-house and / or through external resources to ensure that the design is manufacturable at lowest cost.
  • Works closely and keeps an open line of communications with the receiving teams to ensure needs are met and deliveries are on time and effective to plant goals.
  •  Responsible for ensuring that manufacturing sites have the proper equipment for manufacturing, testing and quality control to ensure that product is delivered in accordance with all requirements.
  • Conducts or monitors process PFMEAs, failure analysis, vendor audits and is responsible for approving first articles for new products.
  •  Functions as liaison to global manufacturing facilities and is responsible to provide solutions to manufacturing issues, for both new and legacy products, along with project management of new product launch and the transfer of product from one facility to another.
  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Work is predominantly intellectual in nature. Automation and/or tooling design using CAD required (ProE, Creo, Spaceclaim, & SolidWorks preferred).
  • General supervision. Work is team oriented, but one often can independently determine and develop approach to solutions. May exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
  • Will periodically lead and train production employees on new launch projects within the manufacturing environment.
  • Aware of cultural differences that may exist in business practices and applies them in global interactions.




  • Candidate should have a minimum of a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Process Design and/or documented experience in a related design development skills function.
  • Preferred candidate will have 8+ years of documented manufacturing and automation design experience within the Cable process assembly market preferably.
  • Experience in machine, tool, and fixture design required.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, & Outlook.
  • Strong Project Management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Passport. International travel required. (Typical travel <30%)
  • Individual must be a “Team Player” that can work in a fast paced environment with multiple changing priorities and be a self-starter.
  • Fluency in English required. Spanish speaking a plus but not required.
  • Heavy Equipment/Automotive experience preferred but not required.
