Job Overview
Tasks And Responsibilities
• Driver of the internal product strategies for product lines in the terminals & connectors portfolio
• Active participation and coordination of global production capacities and definition of localization activities for the product portfolio
• Responsible for forecast and profitability of the product line
• Initiator of improvement measures in order to continuously develop the margin of the product line
• Active management of the product life cycle and closing of portfolio gaps
• Business partner in cross-functional project teams for the new development of products
• Implementation of sales activities both on site at the customer and in online and print media
• Responsible for the pricing strategy and definition of the new product introduction in cooperation with adjacent departments (Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering)
• Support of the sales department in commercialization of new technologies
• Analysis of competitors, their products and market strategies
• Participation in the continuous further development of the T&C roadmap
• Leading role in coordinating the product portfolio strategy with other regions
Market Sensing & Strategy Development
- Articulate market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape
- Conduct market segmentation exercises to develop market segment-specific strategies.
- Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking
- Define segment –specific value propositions that beat the competition
- Develop product roadmaps that aligns with business strategy
- Design go to market strategy, inclusive of channel strategy and partnerships
- Work with R&D and operations in the development of new products to meet current and future customer requirements.
- Manage the product lifecycle
- Develop Business Plan (Achieve cross- functional alignment to the plan)
- Define resource requirements necessary to execute the product roadmap
- Work cross functionally to define sales, technology and operations strategies and goals, in line with financial goals. Build consensus on specific tasks.
- Establish pricing policy
- Develop the annual operating plan (Sales and gross or standard margin)
Execution: New Product Development launch
- Be the opportunity champion for PAC projects.
- Plans product launches, including the development of marketing and sales plans.
- Provide demand forecast inputs to S&OP.
- Attend customer meetings in support of winning new business
- Exercise thought leadership.
- Provide inputs to Marcom for the development of collateral, including e-commerce.
Execution: Post Launch Product Management
- Manage the PL (sales and gross or standard margin) for the assigned portfolio.
- Deliver sustained profitable growth
- Enable sales to promote product line via training and the development of collateral materials that help articulate the value proposition.
- Manage special pricing requests
- Track progress to the business plan and facilitate resolution to gaps.
- Be the champion for resolution of product issues (e.g., quality, delivery, etc.)
What your background should look like:
• Engineer with a master's degree in industrial engineering or similar
• Knowledge of the various contact systems and preferences of the individual OEM / HM is an advantage
• Very good technical and commercial understanding
• Open to innovative ideas and food for thought, excellent analytical skills, with an eye for details
• At least 6 years of professional experience in a technical function, sales HM / OEM or S&OP is desirable
• Knowledge of TE systems such as TE Project, IBP, SAP
• Proactive, dynamic team player who can independently and seamlessly take on internal, external, and cross-departmental activities in the organization
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
• Fluent language skills (oral & written) in English and German are required
• Willingness to travel EMEA / Global is required
