INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

OVERVIEW

 

The IE Practitioner will be responsible to maintain cost competitiveness and stable delivery by optimally managing all process from production to sales and should act as catalyst to drive Business process improvements.

This job also includes identifying accurate manufacturing environments through job measurement & data analysis and identifying/suggesting opportunities for improvement through mid- to long-term industry and product trend, capacity, cost, P&L, labour efficiency analysis.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

 

RESOURCE OPTIMIZATION

  • Analyse Strength & Weakness of our manufacturing environment
  • Propose reasonable method to solve constrained resource (Machine, Manpower) or cost improvement
  • P&L analysis for improvement activities
  • Check the plant capacity for All machines, Tools & Manpower & respond to customer, related teams, or management
  • Regular Headcount planning
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing
  • Tracking production performance (OEE, labour efficiency

 

OPERATION STRATEGY

  • Supporting internal manufacturing strategy or cross-regional projects
  • Bring timely and useful insight, perspective, and analytics
  • Find out more efficient process thru analysis of related data and engineering method (P&L analysis, BOL)

 

TOOL TRANSFER:

  • Manufacturing data support between plant or region
  • Propose appropriate location and setup schedules
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools

 

MASTER DATA:

  • Master data maintenance accurately (SAP System)
  • Drive SAP analytics and support other users.
  • Define maintenance method of master data

 

BUDGETING:

  • Standard earned hours tracking and estimation

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A graduate of Bachelor of Science un Industrial Engineer
  • 3-5 Years of Manufacturing Experience in Industrial Engineering team or strategic planning team
  • Demonstrated Operation strategy skill to maintain a highly efficient manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP System set up and use is a plus (SAP- BOM Creation)
  • Basic knowledge in AUTOCAD (2D), specifically for plant lay- out
  • Knowledgeable in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Knowledgeable in Time and Motion Study and Line Balancing
  • Planning capacity knowledge
  • General knowledge of Operations/ Manufacturing Process
  • Project management experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Manufacturing technologies: Stamping, Plating, Molding and Assembly
  • SAP, LEAN Manufacturing Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage

 

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.
