Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Product Development Engineer, your role revolves around proposing innovative automotive solutions, ensuring compliance with norms, and contributing to successful product outcomes. Your responsibilities span from project conception and cost management to detailed technical design and quality assurance.
1. Conceptualization and Compliance:
- Evaluate feasibility and adhere to norms and procedures during the conceptual phase.
- Ensure compliance with quality specifications and customer performance requirements.
2. Project Management:
- Realize projects within negotiated timelines.
- Create cost-effective solutions aligned with revenue objectives.
3. Technical Design and Feasibility:
- Propose, realize, and supervise technical solutions, CAD models, and detailed drawings.
- Guarantee technical feasibility considering customer knowledge and manufacturing constraints.
4. Analysis and Calculations:
- Conduct functional and stack-up analysis.
- Perform calculations related to material resistances and contribute to Finite Element Analysis (FEM).
5. Lifecycle Management and Documentation:
- Ensure product lifecycle maintenance and adherence to TE connectivity procedures.
- Manage project documentation under PLM (Program Central) and adhere to classification rules.
6. Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Participate in product qualification, including metrology analysis and testing follow-up.
- Make decisions on parts conformity according to specifications.
7. Intellectual Property and Compliance:
- Maintain intellectual property integrity, ensuring confidentiality agreements and patent requests.
- Create and supervise technical documentation, including specifications and packaging instructions.
8. Product Lifecycle and Improvement:
- Follow the product lifecycle, propose improvements, and standardize changes under TE system EC TEC change.
- Formalize approvals for equipment duplications, replacements, and transfers.
9. Collaboration and Participation:
- Participate in internal and external work groups for normalization.
- Collaborate with customers and participate in beta testing of relevant software.
This role demands proactive engagement in all aspects of product development, from ideation to compliance, making it crucial for successful project outcomes.
What your background should look like:
- Engineer degree Generalist or Mechanical Engineering, Micro Technics.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering.
- Previous experience in Development center is plus : Study, R&D, Laboratory, Methods/ Planning in industrial world.
- Knowhow of material resistance.
- Know how on cutting, molding, plasturgy, conception, CAO, Plastique materials, Metals and surface treatments.
- Knowhow on stamping process and metallic processing standards (Metal sheet, unching, blanking, bending, coining, embossing, and flanging).
