Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Tooling Teams perform the manufacturing functions related to metal working dies and tool making. They are responsible for completing all assignments to construct, modify and condition metal working dies and may fabricate new gages, cutting or forming tools and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications. They perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solve problems relating to unusual materials, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Short Description

 The Toolmaker mold maintenance is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting assembly fixtures and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all injection molds to minimize downtime keeping safety as a priority 

Disassembles molds and reassembles after cleaning and or changing part configuration

Troubleshoots molds for repairs, analyze parts for mold repair 

Complete repairs and maintenance on molds as assigned

Inform Team Leader of requirements to maintain components for stores and repairs 

 Ensure the Mold Maintenance area is clean and safe at all times

Follow all work instructions and procedures in accordance with TS16949. Ensure all paperwork and log books 

Help develop and maintain our Mold Standards 

Actively pursue opportunities to reduce cost and improve cycle times and support other teams with cost reduction implementations 

What your background should look like:

3 to 5 years as Toolmaker mold maintenance 

Completion of High School required

Automotive manufacturing experience would be an asset

Experience with injection mold maintenance and repairs required 

Experience in machine shop techniques would be an asset

Solid understanding of the injection molding process required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel required

Proficient reading design drawings and blue prints

Basic knowledge of Laser welding be an asset 

Ability to work flexible work hours, including unscheduled overtime when necessary required
