Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Short Description

Adhere to all standard safety requirements and wear recommended personal protective equipment always

in the production areas.

 Ensures raw material availability and communicate gaps in time with the team leader.

 Ensures that Workstations are identified and in good condition.

 Updates Hydra system with production data following the defined sequence

 Start /Restart /Shut down presses as required.

 Record Mold history information.

 Record data on the report card

 Perform visual inspection of molded product including the use of measuring equipment

 Perform general housekeeping duties in accordance with 5S+1 procedure to assigned presses

and areas throughout the shift

 Obtain setup parameters for the mold and input them into injection molding press.

 Perform TPM walkaround,

 Complete the Process Control Sheet

 Continually monitor the process and the leakage

 Packages completed product per the packing process sheet – this includes weigh counting,

 Complete required paperwork to report production, scrap, press downtime, problems and issues related to the presses (Factory

Order log), service requests for molds and molding presses and labor reporting

 Troubleshooting of the problem created in the process

 Apply the SMED in the mold change setup

 Assume the Training of the new operators

What your background should look like:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree (BAC) or higher

Special Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Completion of approved training in an injection molding environment
  • Strong team collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Emphasis on innovation and process improvement
