Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Tasks Summary and Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the lab Supv or test engineer.
  • Can makes test request review.
  • Analyses the test requests.
    • Analyse the specifications.
    • Prepare a validation plan.
    • Allocate workload to test technicians according to priorities.
    • Confirm test end date to requesters.
    • Defines the test methods, test equipments after analysis of the test request and samples.
  • Samples reception (identification and storing).
  • Performs the tests as per TE or Customer specifications or international specs (CEI...).
  • Performs specific tests for product validation and qualifications (Mechanical, Climatic test sequences, electrical ageing test, vibration ageing tests, sealing tests)
  • Approve and synthesises test results and make test conformity statement.
  • Comments and discuss about test results for product improvement and ,or modification.
  • Records all observations in order to constitute the technical file in order to update the product file.
  • Responsible to the lab documentation associated to the test request.
    • Writes the test reports (Crl, PV, R).
    • Review test reports.
    • Validates by the lab supervisor or proxy.
    • Files the lab document into the lab data base
    • Sends the test reports to the diffusion list.
    • Comments or and answers all questions from the test requester as front line.
    • Can launch some more new tests after discussion with the engineering and lab management.
  • Insures the good working order of the test equipments
    • Identifies the equipment failure.
    • Informs the personal of the lab in charge of the maintenance interface with the supplier.
    • Follows up the calibration program with calibration leader.
  • Ensures a technical watch on the lab environment.
  • Report to the leader about improvement on the test station.
  • Can participate to confirmation and validation of test methods.
  • Can Participate to test method uncertainties calculation.
  • Extend technical information and conduct training activities to new recruits in the laboratory.

 

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, 5S plus 1 and quality management with respect to IATF 16949, ISO 17025
  • Team support based on extensive basic knowledge in project tasks.
  • Perform error analyses root causes using various analytical methods.

What your background should look like:

Educational Degree

  • BAC plus 4 (BTS or DUT) in electrotechnic, electronic, electromechanical and mesures physiques.

Professional Experience         

  • 3 to 5 years experience in various technical environment (Laboratory ideally)

Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Writing and speaks English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Software’s such as Labview, Mathlab

Other important things to note

  • Precise, exactness, logic, Understand, analyse and synthesise one situation or some data collections. Being able to translate this in a clear way in writing or oral, self-governing, curious, interested by the science.
