Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Tasks Summary and Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the lab supervisor or test engineer.
    • Samples reception and storing.
    • Analyses the test requests.
    • Analyse the specifications and Test plan.
    • Application of the test methods.
    • Identify the tools and accessories to perform the tests according to the SWI and/or the specification of the required test method.
    • Configure the test in cooperation with technical support and based on the test plan.
  • Performs the tests.
    • Preparation of the samples (measurements points, visual inspection…)
    • Machinery programming
    • Test fixture preparation or identification.
    • Performs the tests as per TE or Customer specifications or international Standard (CEI, ...).
    • Performs specific tests for product validation and qualifications (Mechanical, Climatic, electrical, vibration, sealing tests)
  • Collects and analyses test results.
    • Synthesises all results.
    • Comments and discuss about test results for product improvement and or modification.
    • Record all test observations and details in the technical file of test request.
    • Make a conformity judgment of results.
  • Responsible to the lab documentation associated to the test request.
    • Writes the test reports.
    • File all documents of each completed test request in the laboratory database.
    • Comments or and answers all questions from the test requester and report them.
    • Amendment to reports.
    • Can propose improvement on the Lab area.
  • Insures the good working order of the test equipments
    • Identifies the equipment failure.
    • Ensures maintenance First Level and allowed maintenance possible.
    • Informs the personal of the lab in charge of the maintenance interface with the supplier.
    • Insures 5S plus1 in the Lab area.
  • Ensures a technical watch on the lab environment.
  • Report to the leader about improvement on the test station

Attend the planning meeting with the technical supports and the laboratory manager.

What your background should look like:

Educational Degree

  • BAC plus 2 or BAC plus 3 (BTS Or DUT) in Mechanics, electrical engineering, electronics, electromechanical and physics.

Professional Experience         (years in what processes and function)

  • 0 to 2 years in various technical environment (especially in laboratory)
  • Beginner can be accepted under supervision

Special Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Writing English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Other important things to note

  • Precise, exactness, logic, Understand, analyse and synthesise situation or data. Being able to translate this in a clear way in writing or oral, self governing, curious, interested by the science.
