Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

 

Role Statement:

This role will provide laboratory support to the Analytical team within the Aerospace, Defence and Marine business unit. The analytical activities will cover supporting the analytical team with routine testing, sample preparation and housekeeping. The role also includes helping maintain Safety Data Sheets, COSHH and Risk assessments.

Key tasks of the job:

· Support engineer with testing requirements

· Perform routine analytical tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies to complete analyses

· Sample preparation – potting, cutting & grinding

· Routine QC FTIR testing.

· Support printing and cleaning 3D printed parts

· Wet and dry analytical techniques

· Assist in chemical inventory management including indexing of SDS on MSDSOnline

· General laboratory house keeping

· Participation in training courses.

 

Qualifications & specialist training required:

A Level / BTEC in science or engineering disipline

What your background should look like:

· Strong communication skills written and verbal

· Pay attention to detail and accurately record information

· General knowledge of laboratory equipment and usage

· Use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer.

· Good record keeping

· Be open and approachable.

· Team Player

· Technical by nature and with a practical hands-on approach.

· ‘Can do’ attitude

 

Job Specific Training:

· Suitable lab training will be provided

· Study part-time at college for a higher/degree level qualification
