Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Business Development Teams identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business development strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies and services. They identify markets and determine the feasibility of business and product development. Our Teams perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities, develop business models and determine market trends to substantiate long-term prospects.

The Technical Project Manager oversees and manages projects related to semiconductor development, manufacturing, or integration. They combine their technical expertise in semiconductor technologies with project management skills to ensure successful project execution. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, adhering to industry standards and regulations, and delivering high-quality semiconductor products on time and within budget.
 

Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Initiation:

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables specific to semiconductor development or manufacturing.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, considering semiconductor industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies tailored to semiconductor projects.

2. Team Leadership and Coordination:

  • Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams comprising semiconductor engineers, technicians, and other specialists.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their expertise and project requirements.
  • Foster collaboration and communication among team members to ensure alignment with semiconductor project goals.

3. Semiconductor Development and Manufacturing Oversight:

  • Coordinate semiconductor design, fabrication, testing, and validation activities according to project requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to semiconductor industry standards (e.g., ISO, SEMI) and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, FCC).
  • Monitor semiconductor manufacturing processes and quality control measures to maintain product integrity and reliability.

4. Project Execution and Monitoring:

  • Monitor semiconductor project progress against key milestones, budget allocations, and timeline objectives.
  • Identify and address technical challenges, supply chain issues, and production bottlenecks proactively.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and reports to keep stakeholders informed of semiconductor project developments.

5. Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage relationships with semiconductor industry partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate semiconductor project status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Solicit feedback from semiconductor industry stakeholders and incorporate input to optimize project outcomes.

6. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure that semiconductor products meet quality standards, performance specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and conduct audits of semiconductor manufacturing facilities and procedures.
  • Facilitate semiconductor product testing, validation, and certification processes as necessary.

7. Closure and Post-Implementation Review:

  • Facilitate semiconductor project closure activities, including documentation, handover, and lessons learned.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate semiconductor project outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and capture best practices.
  • Share insights and recommendations with semiconductor industry stakeholders to enhance future project performance.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor development, manufacturing, or integration.
  • Project Management experience essential.
  • Proficiency in semiconductor design tools, fabrication processes, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple semiconductor projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management software and semiconductor-specific tools (e.g., CAD, CAM, EDA).
