Job Overview

IND BU Commercial Finance Manager leads globally the business analytics and financial operations (Forecasting/Budgeting) within the sales area (bookings/revenue to standard margin and cash). The role bridges results and analyses trends, identify business inefficiencies and potential areas of improvement.

Your responsibilities

•    Drives the Forecasting/Budgeting and Financial Strat plan of BU IND Sales and ensuring coordination among Finance, Sales teams and SubVertical stakeholders as well as having direct ownership of the planning of the Shared P&L and Balance sheet.
•    Ensures effective planning processes with the Global Industrial Sales organization and timely and accurate submissions to corporate and Global FP&A Finance
•    Owns sales reporting both from a TE Connectivity month-end closing cycle and from a customer & market driven cycle. Support Quarterly Business reviews/ Quarterly Earnings release preparation in cooperation with business teams and BU management team
•    Bridges results and analyses trends from a full P&L and Balance sheet perspective, identifying business inefficiencies and potential areas of improvement. Explains and communicates gaps of performance (actual/fcst) in a comprehensive way to enable management decisions and conclusions
•    Business partners with Chief Commercial Officer and sales management team in order to drive business efficiencies and monitors financial targets. Pro-actively identifies appropriate KPI’s and ensuring accurate tracking of performance.
•    Provides insights and recommendations driven by data analytics, advanced modelling technics, and triangulation of external and market data.
•    Supervises, develops and standardizes planning and reporting process. Increases productivity by enabling automation steps, eliminating duplications, coordinating information requirements. Focus on continuous process improvement and simplification
•    Leads and provides mentoring to the finance development associates.
•    Oversees financial and individual target setting within the SIP cadence, acts as a stakeholder in identifying the right and measurable SIP elements
•    Ensure Compliance with TE connectivity Policies/Procedures

What your background should look like:

  • University degree (economics or controlling preferred)
  • 10+ years’ experience in finance assignments (minimum 5+ years in FP&A). Particular experience in commercial & market analytics and pricing is a strong advantage
  • Prior experience in managing a team
  • Experience of manufacturing and trading organizations, budgeting/ forecasting processes/ consolidation and standard cost accounting techniques.
  • Outstanding finance, business & market analytical skills with an ability to "see the big picture" and anticipate future consequences
  • Strong problem solving, strategic & tactical thinking within the commercial finance area 
  • Positive and energetic approach with a “can-do” attitude and an open personality
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels (particularly within a commercial organization)
  • Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international matrix organization
  • Natural curiosity about markets, products and customers
  • Strong ability to influence both via direct and indirect channels
  • Ability to make sound high-quality decisions in a timely manner in order to support the commercial operations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams as well as to develop direct reports and other team members
  • Ability to develop and articulate a well thought-out vision for the commercial finance and manage through innovation
  • General understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS reporting
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of SAP, COGNOS, Hyperion or similar ERP, BI and consolidation systems
