Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities:
1. Planning and Budgeting
Develop and implement production operating budget and plan; monitor the achievement of the budget; Cascade VS target to subordinates and monitor team and individual performance; and develop VS headcount planning and budgeting in order to achieve targeted VS performance.

2. Compliance
Promote TE values. Oversee the implementation of TE global and Qing Dao-released policies, procedures and systems; lead and monitor the development and implementation of localized policies and procedures in order to provide working guidelines and direction for the VS team members to ensure zero compliance incidents in your team

3. Team Development 
Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback; mentor, develop and motivate them; and resolve people/functional issues in the team in order to achieve targeted department performance and retain key talent. Collaborate with function team leaders to support related engineers for continuous  success ,development and highly engagement;
Facility resource sharing and encourage rotations between VS teams

4. Continuous Improvement (TEOA & digital  in VS)
Develop the manufacturing technology strategy road map in VS;
Develop and implement the TEOA strategy of individual VS to achieving efficiency improvement ;
Develop and implement the digital strategy of individual VS to achieving efficiency improvement;
Improving safety , quality, delivery and cost metrics to meet yearly, monthly, weekly and daily operation targets;

5.Cost control
implement NPI, expansion, migration projects and VS transformation project's to maintain productive operations;
Tightly control variable cost  including the consumables, OT, IDL HCs to have competitive cost in the market;
Make proper decision on quality scrap, COPQ to eliminate operation loss;
Driving OEE improvement though daily operations and projects developed;

6. Inventory , LT, and material productivity
Working with related functions to driving inventory, LT  and cost reduction using TEOA tools
plan and control your WIP through applying flow in VS;
Driving material productivity improvement by working with related function teams;

7. Capex and asset management
Manage the capital investment plan in VS;
Applying TPM practical in VS to driving the machine up time and reducing the spare parts inventory;
Monitoring the depreciation cost in VS and overhaul fixed cost;

 

Qualifications
1. Bachelor in Engineering.
2. At least 8 years related experience as VSM or similar position from MNC manufacturing industry. Electronic industry is ideal
3. People leader experience of a sizable team
4. Fluent in English
5. Strong problem solving ability, open minded and innovation. 
6. Strong preforming leader with strategic thinking.
