We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our laser technology site in Plymouth, MN.  This position is responsible for the resolution of manufacturing issues, providing tools and engineering support to implement new products into production, and leading process design functions to determine product flow through the manufacturing operation by use of current engineering and continuous improvement techniques.  TE Medical offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Responsibilities & Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Transfer R&D jobs to productionComplete drawing /design for manufacturing reviews
    • Complete risk assessment/FMEA
    • Complete DOE, range finding tasks
    • Develop processes/process maps
    • Develop tooling
    • Generate work instructions/SOPs
    • Validate processes
    • Determine time standards
  • Set-up jobs
  • Conduct production product/process improvements through LEAN, 6s 5s etc.
  • Support production
  • Develop, approve, procure, maintain and repair production hardware
  • Review/approve DCO’s
  • Review process changes for validation requirements
  • Maintain records and records databases
  • Resolve job related issues promptly in a manner that promotes harmony and aligns with the company’s objectives and goals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve the business and perform other duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Knowledge (education and certifications)

  • AS/AAS degree in mechanical/process engineering or comparable work experience in laser cutting, marking, plastics ablation and/or welding
  • ASME Y14 drafting standards
  • MS Office proficiency
  • NC Programming – G-code, Aerotech, Compumotor
  • CAD proficiency – Solidworksand Mastercam

Skills

  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Quickly identify, quantify and resolve problems/issues
  • Use a digital camera
  • Use measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, microscope/reticle and rules
