Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Tooling Teams perform the manufacturing functions related to metal working dies and tool making. They are responsible for completing all assignments to construct, modify and condition metal working dies and may fabricate new gages, cutting or forming tools and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications. They perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solve problems relating to unusual materials, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

•    Train and direct the activities of subordinate workers assigned to the tool Maintenance
•    Monitoring of tool life’s time to time without effecting to production plans
•    To co-ordinate with Quality, Maintenance and PPC team on day-to-day tool maintenance section requirements & ensure tools availability.
•    Spares management & reviewing for refurbishment requirements for life in progressive tools
•    Must lead improvement project like supercharging, TPM, Breakdown analysis
•    Maintain or supervise the maintenance of tool room records as required
•    Evaluates usage history and recommends inventory levels for tools, equipment, and repair parts
•    Inspects, troubleshoots, overhauls, and repairs assigned tools and equipment as required
•    Input and hold responsibility for Tool Maintenance budgets.
•    Solve production complaints and take corrective action on issues to avoid reoccurrence.
•    Tool Design Modification for the Better Performance of tool.
•    Able to Train and coach subordinates.
•    Ensure EHS compliances are met.
•    Ensuring new tool trials and transfer to production within time
 

Desired Candidate Profile

•    10+ years of experience in the automotive industry related to tool Maintenance. 
•    Experience in high-speed stamping and troubleshooting of progressive Tool (500 to 1000 SPM)
•    Knowledge of geometric tolerances
•    Understanding the practices, terminology and tolerances associated with manufacturing, machining, grinding, wire EDM etc.
•    Basic knowledge of high-speed stamping process

 

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

•    NTTF (Tool & Die making)
•    Diploma in Tool & Die Engineering
•    Knowledge about various Stamping tool (high speed Progressive tool preferred).
•    English language 60%
