Job Overview

Essential Functions

  • Has strong impact in Advanced Manufacturing Technology Roadmap driven development projects.
    • Drives for excellence in existing control systems for Stamping, Plating, Assembly, Molding (SPAM) technologies and methods.
    • Strives to implement optimized or new control systems for manufacturing technologies to provide improved processes and tolerance control.
  • Provides control systems expert knowledge and collaborates with Product Development in the optimization of part and product designs for manufacturability, deploying control systems for integrating mechanical, electrical and software elements of manufacturing processes for SPAM to realize product samples and prototypes.
  • Provides control systems expert knowledge for integrating mechanical, electrical and software elements of manufacturing processes for SPAM to realize advanced manufacturing technology development projects.
  • Acts as a binding element between product development and advanced manufacturing & process engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.
  • Designs, develops, and qualifies control systems in compliance with TE EH&S, quality and production standards, as well as recognized industry standards.
  • Documents all control system related processes in applicable TE systems.
  • Supports supply chain to verify control systems related suppliers’ compliance and capability.
  • Initiates and implements control systems related programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time.
  • Maintains and adheres to all appropriate specifications, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Applies control systems expertise to resolve significant / unique / complex issues, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Provides measurable input to the objectives and goals of the department in support of the function and business unit strategies.

What your background should look like:

  • Minimum 8 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Electrical, Mechatronic, or related) required, Master’s preferred.
  • Demonstrates control systems expertise by integrating theory and principles with organizational practices and precedents into work.
  • Sound technical knowledge of programming language/devices (e.g. PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS), and hands-on experience with MATLAB or AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge with quality tools (FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D/Continuous Improvement), is a plus!
  • Broad knowledge of stamping, plating, assembly, and molding manufacturing processes for connectors and sockets is desired.
  • Working knowledge of signal integrity concepts is desired.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment, performing work without appreciable direction.
  • Drives results primarily through collaboration and influence, not through direct reporting relationships.
  • Provides training and mentorship to other professional employees.
  • Practical application of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PPT, Project, & Outlook). 
  • Broad project management skill and experience – Ability to work on several projects at once.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% average.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $117,120 - 175,680 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
