Job Overview

Essential Functions

  • Has strong impact in Advanced Manufacturing Technology Roadmap driven development projects.
    • Drives for excellence in existing plating technologies and methods.
    • Strives to implement optimized or new plating technologies to improve processes and tolerance control.
  • Performs the set-up, changeover, and efficient flow of materials of all process steps involved in parts plating.
  • Performs all activities involved in plating tooling maintenance (inventory, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, repair)  
  • Performs all activities involved in plating related chemical process control as per approved procedures/work instructions (e.g. record keeping of bath analysis and precious metal usage, CPA DI water, hazardous waste, inventory control, handling expired chemicals).
  • Assists in special engineering projects as required, to include equipment evaluation, data gathering, data organization, brief written reports, recording of procedures and gathering, data organization, brief written reports, recording of procedures and calibration procedures.
  • Uses ability as a skilled specialist to contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques.
  • Resolves complex situations, issues, and tasks by taking independent action and a high degree of initiative; develops and applies creative / resourceful methods to completing work as appropriate.
  • Frequently interacts with individuals representing partner organizations or individuals of significant importance within the company.
  • Interaction involves planning and preparation of communications and requires skill, tact, persuasion and/or negotiation to accomplish objectives.
  • Maintains and adheres to all appropriate specifications, EH&S and customer requirements.

What your background should look like:

  • Minimum 6 years of plating operations experience.
  • High School diploma or related local equivalent required.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and wide understanding of all aspects of plating operations (set-up and change-over, efficient flow of materials, troubleshooting, chemical process control)
  • Broad knowledge of stamping, plating, and assembly processes for connectors and sockets is desired.
  • Requires skill, tact, persuasion and/or negotiation to accomplish objectives.
  • Practical application of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PPT, & Outlook). 
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% average.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $75,600 - 113,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
