Job Overview

The Indirect Procurement Facilities Commodity Manager is responsible for strategically sourcing, negotiating, and managing indirect procurement categories, explicitly focusing on facilities-related commodities and services. This role requires a highly skilled professional to optimize costs, ensure supply chain stability, and maintain quality standards while supporting the company's operational goals and sustainability initiatives. Knowledge of sustainability practices in procurement, including Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL) initiatives, is desirable.

 

Job Summary: 
 

1. Strategic Sourcing and Category Management:

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for facilities-related commodities, including but not limited to maintenance services, janitorial, landscaping, food services, HVAC, and security.
  • This position at TE includes the sourcing of Energy 
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess market trends, and benchmark pricing.

 

2. Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Establish strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement, innovation, and cost-effective procurement.
  • Conducted supplier performance evaluations and managed supplier development programs.

 

3. Contract Negotiation and Management:

  • Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
  • Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

 

4. Cost Management and Savings:

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.
  • Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics, including savings achieved and supplier performance.

 

5. Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements


6. Collaboration and Cross-functional Support:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including facilities management, finance, legal, risk, and operations, to understand their needs and ensure alignment of procurement strategies.
  • Provide procurement expertise and support for cross-functional projects and initiatives.

 

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies to enhance procurement strategies.

Required Job Family Skills:

  • Draft standard and custom RFQs/RFIs and utilize e-procurement technology to define requirements and analyze supplier responses.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of liability agreements and special purchasing techniques, such as last-price paid contracts, online ordering discounts and rebates, and total landed cost analysis.
  • Understand the impact of suppliers' proposed deviations from standard terms and conditions, recommend responses or action plans, and minimize the need for legal involvement, unless necessary, based on approved benchmarks.
  • Conducted quarterly and annual supplier evaluations, monitored supplier quality, delivery, and compliance with requirements, and developed corrective action plans based on evaluation results.
  • Manage the implementation of strategies within scope, utilizing all available resources and prioritizing tasks to meet customer expectations and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform cost/price analysis focusing on the total cost of ownership and use this analysis for supplier, commodity, and project strategy decisions.
  • Meet savings targets for assigned areas and support overall Facilities savings goals.
  • Understand the effects of technological innovations, economic factors, and global issues on specific commodities or products.
  • Know about world economics, taxation issues, and currency impacts.
  • Take complete ownership of tasks and create solutions to meet requirements with minimal manager involvement.
  • Understanding e-catalog management and information record management is a plus.

 

Must have experience developing high-spend strategies across the Americas region, optimizing and consolidating supplier management, and enhancing the procurement of services and materials. Should possess the capability to execute transformational initiatives. Must be adept at managing resistance to change from key stakeholders and leading change across borders and cultures. The ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and leverage all available resources to achieve goals is essential.

  • Support cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Materials, Plant Operations, and the BPO team.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $99,200 - $148,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
