Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams; establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence supports.

In this role you will be expected to be figuring as project manager and be responsible for key strategic projects from its design to its delivery. You’ll be also expected to maintain and drive the TEOA standards through continuous improvement for processes within the AMER region. If not yet certified on TEOA standards you’ll be expected to start to develop yourselves first as Kaizen facilitator and continue towards mid. to senior levels of projects management including Lean Six Sigma belts curriculum (provided your proven capability) to which you’ll receive appropriate training and supervision and guidance of senior Black Belt. Your PM curriculum will be specialized in Business Processes (Kaizen and Lean methodologies are applicable in 90-95% of the cases; use of Six Sigma 5-10% applicable)

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Prime Roles and responsibilities:  

  • Your prime responsibility will be to learn and develop by hands on doing and exposure, with the final objective to get you to the point of self-standing highly performing project manager mastering all 3 methodologies of Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma for Business Processes. You’ll be able to successfully run projects of middle to high complexity using those methodologies as applicable and teach and coach those to others at entry level
  • As part of your exposure and hands on practise you’ll responsible for leading projects/assignment from A-Z as required; you’ll be assigned senior BB where applicable for appropriate guidance and supervision for each project/assignment you’ll have to do
  • One of your 1st mandatory short term objectives during your PM curriculum will be to get yourself Kaizen facilitator certified and lead and facilitate Kaizen events or equivalent projects as per the CJM org. need
  • Once you’ll hit the first milestone you’ll be deciding together with your leader/coach about the next steps of the development dependant of your skills set & proven capabilities, and your long term interests


What will you be expected to learn as part of your Prime Roles and Responsibilities:

  • As part of your prime responsibilities you’ll be expected to learn and contribute through your project work to the strategic planning and development of the Channel Operations group towards continuous improvement mind-set through TEOA methodologies (Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, PM)
  • Learn about project portfolio management and how to select appropriate projects to ensure it is addressing the functional goals to meet strategy
  • Learn how to report functional priorities and align the development priorities
  • Learn how to construct business case for CC business priorities and get buy in and financing from sponsors and stakeholders
  • Contribute with your inputs to strategic decisions about major areas of process improvement
  • Learn how to drive consistency in project approach within the function
  • Learn TEOA journey and strategy specific for Business Processes in CC
  • Contribute with your inputs to the development and delivery of the global project management training programmes
  • Learning about reporting on the usability & effectiveness of the PM process steps, tools, reporting and R&R within the function. Make recommendations if changes are necessary
  • Provide input and recommendations to the global project portfolio including additions, deletions and prioritization based on strategy and bandwidth.
  • Support to drive alignment with Global project portfolio management including but not limited to control of P-Mett for specific region
  • Learn how to Identify and assign individual projects by using effectively related TEOA tools such as QCPC, etc.
  • Learn how to support alignment with the CC Operations group and regional functional strategies
  • All this learning is obtained mainly through effective job shadowing of your respective Senior PM Black Belt. It will also include some specific training which you’ll be provided to help your learning curve.

What your background should look like:

  • Strong Project management & Analytics skills and continuous improvement mind set with proven track record of deliverables
  • Execution of project pipeline on time and on budget including ROI
  • Stakeholders management (mid./upper mng.)
  • University degree & MBA or equivalent years of experience in project management
  • Demonstrated track record of deliverables in project management including ROI
  • Familiar with managing matrix project teams
  • Flexibility with global collaboration which requires often to accommodate to other regions time zone differences  
  • Advanced user of Microsoft office package, familiarity with Minitab and other project related tools is advantage but not mandatory – it could help you to progress quicker
  • Functional knowledge of reporting through Cognos, Qlickview and other TE reporting tools is a good advantage
