Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality Assurance Teams are responsible for all or part of an organization's Quality Management System, including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. They work on systemic evaluation of products, services, facilities, manufacturing or business processes, to ensure that standards of quality are being met. Develop and implement quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. They reviews, analyze and report on quality discrepancies, investigate problems and executes quality audits, and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. The team works closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, or suppliers and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met.

 

The Quality Manager role for our Mansfield, OH location will plan, direct and coordinate quality assurance system for manufacturing plant. Develop, implement, and manage quality control processes, methods and procedures leading to achievement of quality objectives.


Responsibilities:
•    Lead quality and plant team to achieve aggressive plant quality goals such as PPM and cost of poor quality
•    Responsible for all aspects of quality at manufacturing plant
•    Establish and/or implement departmental/corporate policies, goals, objectives and procedures
•    Daily monitoring of customer complaints
•    Tracking and managing of customer complaints through closure
•    Lead, manage, and motivate employees engaged in quality activities
•    Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
•    Develop, manage and change quality control systems as needs dictate to deliver performance results
•    Develop and manage internal and external quality performance data
•    Use data driven decisions for continuous improvement
•    Understands and directs employees on PPAP submission process
•    Plant lead for ISO/ASQ9100 certification
•    Quick and efficient containment of quality spills
•    Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with customers
•    Prepare and report out on quality metrics to plant and corporate staff
•    Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments
•    Develop, implement, and manage first/last piece inspections, audits, and safe launch processes and data
•    Direct the tracking of defects, test results or other quality control data
•    Devise methods, processes, procedures to increase efficiency
•    Direct plant inspection activities
•    Performs other related duties as assigned
•    Promote and advocate a safe work environment
 

What your background should look like:

•    Bachelor of Science in Quality or Engineering; those with no degree but equivalent experience, considered
•    8+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; must include 2+ years’ Quality Management experience
•    Record of proven results improving plant level quality metrics related to PPM and cost
•    Knowledge of electronics and plastics products desired
•    Working knowledge of Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, GR&R, LPA
•    Expert in problem solving tools such as 8D, PPSR, 5-Why, trend, Pareto charting, data analysis
•    Six Sigma green belt/black belt desired
•    Working knowledge of cost of poor quality
•    Proficient computer skills
•    Ability to respond to changes in the work environment
•    Commitment to company values
•    Ownership of plant quality, passion for job, sense of urgency in reaching objectives
•    Proficient in English; written and verbal

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $102,240 - $153,360 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
