Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking an experienced attorney with a strong background in manufacturing, preferably in the enterprise data services and computer network device sectors. We are looking for someone with a global mindset to offer dedicated support to TE Connectivity’s Data & Devices business unit.  The attorney filing this role must be qualified for and capable of providing leading support to help execute the business unit’s global strategy (focusing on the Americas region).

The Legal Counsel reports to the Lead Counsel for the Data & Devices business unit and collaborates with other members of the global legal team. This position will provide counsel and legal leadership to business stakeholders, primarily in North America, helping to develop and implement the strategic initiatives and enhancements required best to meet the needs of this growing global business. This is a remote position in the United States, and proximity to a TE Connectivity office is a plus.

Your main tasks include:

Legal Advice:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements (mainly in the Americas) with direct counterparties and indirect (distribution) partners.
  • Coordinate, monitor, advise, and identify critical issues in daily business and ad hoc projects.
  • Ability to provide a range of topics, including commercial law, antitrust and fair competition law, marketing, product compliance, data security/privacy, and ethical sourcing.
  • Collaborate cross-borders with other Law Department and TE subject matter experts.
  • Provide fast responses, impactful training, and guidance on varied legal and compliance topics.  
  • Support internal investigations (if/as) necessary and model a leading culture of compliance as a strategic differentiator for the business.

Operations:

  • Support all daily operations and other operations projects as requested/required.
  • Support plant management and engineering teams at key manufacturing and product design locations.

Compliance Management:

  • Ensure the effectiveness of the company’s compliance program within the operating unit.
  • Provide compliance training to educate employees regarding company policies, compliance requirements, and applicable customer requirements.
  • Help manage TE’s third-party business partner management program for the Business Unit’s business partners.

Claims Management and Dispute Resolution:

  • Ability to provide day-to-day legal advice on a wide range of quality, warranty, and product liability issues.
  • Provide lead support in responding to and resolving disputes, including advice and counsel to senior management.
  • Manage outside counsel on any litigation or other dispute resolution process (past formal litigation commercial experience is a plus).

Legal Policies and Continuous Improvement:

  • Support the continuous development of the TE policies, standard operating procedures, and templates.
  • Ability to lead TE TEOA (operating advantage – lean law processes) related initiatives of the Law Department and the Business Unit Legal team.

Digital platforms/contract lifecycle tools:

  • Assume ownership of digital platforms/contract lifecycle management tool implementation as a critical driver for the BU legal team’s future collaboration, including managing/influencing contract management and IT interface responsible colleagues.

What your background should look like:

Target candidates will have the following: 

  • 7-10 years of direct in-house legal experience supporting global manufacturing and customer sales. 
  • Ability to collaborate across a globally matrixed organization and support cross-functional teams.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; reputation as a strong results-focused business partner who can move quickly. 
  • Experience in enterprise data services, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and computer networking industries (including related intellectual property and compliance matters) is strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $192,480 - $240,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
