Job Overview

This Role is a remote position in Belgium, the Netherlands or Germany.

 

TE Connectivity's Government Affairs Teams develop and implement corporate policy through strategic partnerships with government and industry groups aligning with business objectives. They serve as company liaison to, and foster relationships with, key members of government and industry groups to promote company interests. They prepare policy briefings, testimony for pending legislative actions, and provide thought leadership and recommendations as well as ensure appropriate company participation in government forums and industry group meetings.

Tasks and Responsibilities

You will aim at being a business enabler in supporting TE Connectivity internal customers in strategic European, Middle East and African countries with a focus on Germany legislative and policy initiatives to help deliver on TE business growth objectives in the region. You will support EMEA Sr. Director Government Affairs & Global Corporate Responsibility team to help achieving TE’s strategic objectives aligned with TE’s regional business leaders and corporate-led functions so to deliver value to the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support shaping and implementing public policy advocacy plans to advance TE’s agenda with decision-makers both at EU and national levels, with a focus on industrial policies, geopolitics, sustainability and energy efficiency, digital, cyber and trade related policies.
  • Engagement with Government stakeholders in key markets TE Connectivity serves (Germany, Central & Eastern Countries, and North Africa) to continue building TE credentials and support the business.
  • Translate and monetizing policy trends in business opportunities (mobility, electrification, decarbonization, etc.)
  • Identify proactively policy initiatives, regulatory trends and emerging policy risks and support business leaders, and operations executives, product management, supply chain, etc., with timely guidance and operationalized mitigation /implementation plans with a focus on Germany.
  • Support and drive strategic corporate responsibility programs

What your background should look like

  • 5 - 7 years of proven professional experience in government affairs and corporate responsibility or in similar position
  • University / Master degree preferably in European studies, law, business administration, public administration or politics (project management knowledge and operational capabilities a plus).
  • Excellent communications skills in English (written, oral) and in German (written, oral) a must. Additional language capabilities a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of EU and Member States (with a focus on Germany) political, legislative and regulatory environments and experience in navigating / engaging with government and political decision-makers and internal stakeholder
  • Good understanding of EU industrial priorities, sustainability and digitalization policies and their regulatory implementation needs.
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural and complex cross-functional environments and ability to build relations, trust, collaborative and to deliver creative and operationalized solutions.
  • Strong ability to master business and industrial environment dynamics. Experience in the technology/industrial manufacturing sector preferred with a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • 20% travels across the region, and occasional intercontinental travels.
