TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans in order to meet sales and profit targets.

In this function, you will be part of the Global Medium Voltage Switchgear connectors team working closely with x-functional teams and you will contribute to the development of the energy sector towards a more sustainable and reliable energy pathway. 

 

The Senior PM will have Global responsibility for the product portfolio and will work across functions to manage all aspects of the product life cycle from strategy setting to day-to-day activities, defining and executing the strategic goals associated to the assigned product portfolio.
 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Global definition of product line strategy.
  • Development of market growth strategies. 
  • Definition and Implementation of the 5 Years new product roadmaps.  
  • Initiation of cost reduction programs to increase product line profitability. 
  • Initiation of development projects and advanced development projects. 
  • Obtains and coordinates market / customer requirements through VOC meetings.
  • Facilitates market research to define the correct pricing levels for the new product range to deliver maximum profit margins whilst still achieving the growth targets.
  • Establishes processes for continuous tracking of market prices, target cost analysis per product and consistent cost-out programs.
  • Maintains and updates the Business Case and P+L based on market / project updates and drives actions to ensure the revenue and margin targets are met.
  • Works closely with Marketing to support VOC activities and create a Marketing launch package to support the growth of the new product range.
  • Facilitates external demonstrations, training, and field trials with customers to drive product acceptance and approval with all target customers.
  • Defines the Regional strategies for the product range on a 5 year timeline and creates a detailed execution plan. Considers input from the regions to produce a comprehensive strategy in a balanced way.
  • Manages gross margin improvements and increases cost competitiveness with focus on product / process enhancements (sustaining, TEBIT).
  • Provides all relevant forecasts for the new product range (volume, value, margin, production capacity, investments).
  • Compiles and presents regular reports on the performance of the product range against the relevant key performance metrics (revenue growth, margin, new product sales, etc).

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years experience in Product Management or Commercial role.
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Relevant product or industry experience desired (Energy Power Industry).
  • Entrepreneurial outlook combined with strategic thinking.
  • Leadership and the ability to positively influence teams.
  • Good communication skills and abilities to establish and motivate teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Result and solution-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent level of English. 
  • Experience working within a Global matrix organisation.
  • Financial analysis

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10–12-week program, interns will be provided with:

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
