ASSEMBLY OPERATOR II - MTA Receptacle 3rd Shift

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Assembly Teams operate assigned automated assembly machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

This position works 3rd shift from Sunday through Friday; 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. 

3rd shift receives a 10% shift differential

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Preparing machine for assembly process
  • Operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly machines
  • Load reels of strip terminals and housing onto assembly machines
  • Make fine adjustments to properly align mating parts in machine
  • Clear jams and inspect finished products
  • Performs change-overs, sets up, adjusts & operates assembly machines
  • Troubleshoots and makes complex adjustments and repairs, punches, dies, and adjusting housing feed
  • Performs quality checks per the Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) documenting specified measurements per print at required intervals using height indicator, ram optic, gages, and completing visual checks under a microscope
  • Completes required paperwork to report production, scrap, press downtime, problems and issues related to the presses, service requests equipment, and labor reporting

What your background should look like:

Education / Experience: 

  • Must have passed the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude test
  • Must successfully complete a print reading and precision measuring skills review by the supervisor
  • Must be able to use a microscope to inspect parts
  • High energy, self-motivated, attention to detail and willingness to learn and advance in a fast paced environment
  • HS Diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry a maximum weight of 37 lbs
  • Must be able to push a peak force of 34.5 lbs
  • Must be able to pull a peak force of 39.5 lbs
  • Frequent standing and balancing throughout the day is required in this job
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (@ 20 inches or less) for small objects, color vision, and ability to adjust focus

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $18.00 - $20.00 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
