Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.

 

Primary Responsibility: Actively engages in the utilization of lean manufacturing principles to guide, lead, and assist a designated group of employees within a department or departments on assigned work operations. Reports to Supervisor or Manager.

 

Basic Functions:

  • Train, guide and instruct assigned group of workers on machine operation, fabrication, assembly and inspection sequence, as well as machine and tool care.
  • Monitor inventory within assembly areas and perform inventory and work order transactions.
  • Work with quality, engineering and supply chain departments as needed to resolve issues.
  • Check on availability and/or correctness of material, tooling, shop order and work orders and other instructions as necessary.
  • Actively participate in daily production (Tier II) meetings
  • Distribute or assign work in group to accomplish production goals.
  • Check as necessary work operations and completed work and notify workers of any errors.
  • Assist employees in correcting errors and/or advise them of corrective measures.
  • Maintain training documents.
  • Work closely with and communicate to Supervisor or Manager on matters requiring approval, attention or further instructions.
  • Daily output data provided to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Work closely and take instruction from Planners on daily work and priorities.
  • Monitors output of quality assemblies by each individual worker.
  • Provides feedback to Manager and may participate in annual performance review of each worker.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of, and skill in most, if not all of the work performed by or required of the group.
  • Ensures adherence to safety practices, good housekeeping (ie. 5S), and care of the equipment which are common to the groups’ operations.
  • Monitors attendance of employees in designated departments (vacations, overtime, illness, breaks, punctuality) and submits required requests to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Lead Tier meeting.  
  • Close Workorders in SAP

 

Other Duties May Include:

  • May assist and/or oversee other departments as required.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 yrs. Related Experience
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Ability to Effectively Speak, Read and Write in English

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $38,808 – $48,510 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
