Job Overview

The Global QMS Quality Manager is a key role withing the Quality Organisation of the Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) Business Unit where they shall manage, take the lead and oversee aspects of the AD&M quality system in line with the quality strategy to achieve world class business performance.

As Global Manager the candidate must effectively lead and influence the QMS team and partner with other functions ensuring regulatory compliance is met whilst working on continuous improvement initiatives to drive business excellence and zero-defect culture.

As part of the role, you shall be responsible for identifying gaps and rolling out new or updated procedures in conjunction with carrying out training to ensure a proactive culture and mindset for all AD&M employees. 

You will be liaising with auditing organisations, regulatory authorities, manufacturing plants and customers where necessary, in addition to supporting and carrying out the internal audit process within AD&M business unit to ensure standardisation as part of the 1AD&M Quality Manage initiative. 

As a leader, significant focus shall be on talent development, strengthening the competence and leadership skills of the team. 

 

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Key tasks of the job:

  • Implement and help enhance the Quality Management System inline with certification and customer requirements
  • Activity drives awareness of compliance to regulatory certifications, TE Global QMS / 1AD&M and Customer requirements deploying efficient and consistent procedures. 
  • Promote a high standard of awareness and understanding at site level of all appropriate policies, procedures with Implementation of training programmes associated to quality management system awareness. 
  • Identify gaps and act as a proactive partner in driving change and developing solutions in close collaboration with site continuous improvement team. Driving improvement on COPQ and customer complaints as examples. 
  • Facilitate and lead on site audits at TE sites
  • Manage the Internal and 3rd party / certification Audit programs including follow-up for the closure of all related observations, improvements, major and minor non-conformance corrective and preventive action.
  • Regularly report on quality metrics within the organisation to management 
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews with operational business management / supply chain management to review ongoing action planning for improvement.
  • Ensure robust succession plans and talent pipelines to identify and develop bench strength to fill future leadership roles. 
  • Focus on Continuous Improvement in driving change for the better. 
     

What your background should look like:

  • Degree in engineering, manufacture, supply chain or business
  • Significant experience in a Quality Management Role
  • Builds effective team: Create and communicates standard and mission
  • Ability to support the Leadership in the execution of the business strategy
  • Drive for Results: Displays initiative in meeting expectation and goals. 
  • Exposure to working in a manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of change control
  • Experience working and developing strong relationships with customers and suppliers. 
  • Proven six sigma and lean experience 
  • Strong knowledge of certifications and implementation such as AS9100, IATF16949, AS9145
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of quality tools including but not limited to 8D, FMEA, 5Y, FAI’s, PPAP & APQP
  • Experience in complying with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $141,120 - $211,680 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
