Job Overview

Enterprise Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) solutions have long been a strength of TE Connectivity.  The Digital Engineering Solutions (DES) organization is focused on understanding how our businesses design, manufacture and introduce new products throughout the product lifecycle. Typical process areas they concentrate on include: Portfolio and Program Management, Part/BOM/CAD Data Management, Engineering Change Management, Component and Supplier Management and Product/Regulatory Compliance. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Digital Part Solutions organization within Digital Engineering Solutions has an immediate opportunity for an individual capable of serving in a key role to significantly improve our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) related processes and solutions built on the PTC Windchill platform with the following responsibilities:
  
Primary Responsibilities: 
- Collaborate with business users, various DES and other TE Information Solutions (TEIS) teams to analyze, improve and maintain PTC Windchill based PLM business processes and solutions
- Coordinate the testing of new releases of our major PLM solutions (PTC Windchill)
- Analyze data migration needs for PLM solutions
- Support the transition of new process and application improvements to day to day support functions
- Gather user requirements for new functionality of our PLM Solutions (PTC Windchill).
- Accomplished in the use of Voice of the Customer techniques to ensure comprehensive requirements capture.
- Communicate with software developers and/or vendors to request enhancements or report application improvements/inefficiencies
- Promote the use of PLM solutions and educate users/management on their benefits and limitations.
- Participate in refining the architecture of our enterprise wide PLM solutions
- Assist with or develop/maintain technical documentation (user/functional/design requirements, best practices, change requests, system configuration documentation, training materials)

 

Required Skills:
- Analytical skills to understand business processes, gather requirements and complete assigned tasks.
- Engineering process knowledge, preferably in the electronic components manufacturing industry.

- Knowledge of CAD data management practices and processes, preferably in the electronics components manufacturing industry

- Knowledge of processes and practices of transitioning engineering documentation, data and tasks from design to manufacturing
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing phases of a project from requirements gathering, quality management and on-time delivery.
- Excellent organization, verbal/ written communication and presentation skills with demonstrated business savvy to interact with management, users, contract resources, developers, vendors, and other Information Technology teams.
- Strong spoken and written English language communication.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Able to work independently as well as in a Team.
- Ability to travel and to flex daily work schedule as needed to allow for time-zone differences for global teamwork, planning, communication, and training.
- Strong experience in mapping business processes to new technologies
- Strong analytic skills and understanding of data-driven business decision making
- The candidate must strive for continuous improvement and measurable efficiency gains
 

Desired Skills:
- Experience working in a global organization a plus. Must be able to travel worldwide and will flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for global team communications
- Experience with the Windchill suite of solutions from PTC

- 3 or more years of domain knowledge on Design Engineering, PLM or PDM systems
 

Educational Required/Desired: 
- Bachelor of Science / Art in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience. MBA or Master’s in related area is a plus.
