Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Job Summary: 
Ideal candidate will work alongside Human Resources Functional Leaders to deliver individual targets as well as supporting total overall HR FY targets. Closely collaborating with regional Commodity Leader, HR Services (Americas) as well as peers from other regions (EMEA & APAC). Provides the direction for optimum sourcing of the assigned HR Services commodities. The candidate being sought will be considered the corporate expert for the assigned commodities and leads the development and implementation of the regional supply base strategy to realize established goals and objectives in alignment with the global commodity strategy. Will be responsible for negotiating contracts, including terms and conditions, and promoting long-term commodity strategy to internal stakeholders.

Responsibility/Job Complexity: 
Primary responsibility as a Strategic Sourcing Analyst (III) is to develop and implement sourcing strategies working with cross-functional partners to meet sourcing and cost savings results. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work, and a high level of independent judgment. Individual must exhibit the ability to problem solve and implement innovative strategies related to cost savings and process/operations improvement in assigned commodities. Assigned commodities are within the Human Resources function (supporting TE’s purpose of creating a sustainable environment)
•    Responsible for sourcing/negotiations utilizing the sourcing process (RFP, Proposal/Cost Analysis, and Source Selection) to establish a capable/competitive global supply base. 
•    Manage supplier relationships and ensure achievement of supplier commitments (Service Levels, Cost, Timing, Quality, and Sustainability) 
•    Industry/Market awareness of current developments, trends, and innovation in areas of expertise
•    Develop and execute strategies based on market and technology trends. Analyze and apply appropriate tools, i.e., benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, supplier negotiations, change management, etc.
•    Engage with internal stakeholders and lead cross-functional projects/initiatives, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures
 

What your background should look like:

  • Education/Work Experience:
  • BA/BS, + 3 years minimum work experience (OR)
  • MA/MS, + 2 years minimum work experience
  • Preferred experience in various procurement areas including vendor management, negotiation, etc.
  • Business planning and forecasting (beginner level acceptable)
  • Computer Knowledge/Proficiency:
  • MS Excel – advanced level
  • MS Word – advanced level
  • MS Outlook – advanced level
  • MS PowerPoint – advanced level
  • SAP – Working knowledge
