SR MGR OPERATIONS

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.

What your background should look like:

The Sr MGR Operations is responsible of the optimum use of resources to achieve the plant objectives, quality goals and delivery of the products. Is part of his duties to ensure the good and safe work environment and promote the creativity and enthusiasm of the human resources. He must lead the plant in compliance of the policies, EHS regulations, union relationship and government regulatory guidelines. 

Typically, he reports to a Director or Higher.

-Contributes to Operational Strategy: Manages and Develops Organization.
-Develops organization in support of business strategy.
-Manages complex organization with multiple sub-functions.
-Creates Customer innovation/influencer Relationships.
-Contributes to BY R&D Technical Roadmap.
-Has measurable impact on operating efficiencies and organizational objectives. 
-Coordinates and facilitates technical engineering related communications for internal and external customers. 
-Defines, coordinates, and drives technical activities.
-Develops business relevant innovative solutions 
-Has created of controls the product or process design standard for a key technology used by other engineers 
-Contributes key elements to the technical roadmap of the organization 
-Provides high-level engineering solutions to support technical requirements 

Responsibility:

-Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements 
-Directs a function or multiple sub-functions through managers
-Assesses risk and compliance across area of accountability 
-Interacts with senior management 
-Interaction normally requires the ability to change thinking of and gain acceptance from others 
-Influence at the BU level in present role
-Impacts BU level technology and product decisions 
-Successfully leads BU technical function initiatives 
-Drives innovation and execution to increase competitiveness in present role at the BU level 
-Builds a culture of agile adapting that responds to environment changes
-Provides guidance and complex subject matter training to less experienced co-corkers inside/outside of the department
-Mentors and coaches other engineers inside or outside the BU
