Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Shipping & Receiving Teams perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. They use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting incoming and outgoing shipments. They follow shipping practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules and requirements. The Shipping & Receiving Teams receive incoming materials and prepare materials for shipment. They process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. They also route merchandise to destinations.

 

Standard hours (Mon-Thu 8-17, Fri 8-13)

  • Key Performance Indicator - keeping daily records of production orders and purchase orders 
  • Keeping stock accuracy at a minimum level of 98%

Job Description

  1. To respond to urgent customer service requests in a co-operative and flexible manner liaising with any line manager if necessary. 
  2. Adhering to working practices and procedures.
  3. To accurately maintain all necessary departmental documentation in line with procedures.
  4. To maintain the integrity of the MRP system in order to avoid unnecessary delays in customer service
  5. To maintain the security of the Warehouse and stock.
  6. To block, unblock and move parts when required in a timely manner and communicate with the relevant departments when necessary.
  7. To store and supply parts in suitable packaging as per specifications/BOMs to prevent damage to parts.
  8. To ensure all receipts to stores are correctly located including bin to bin SAP transactions with License tag.
  9. To kit delivery orders, production orders and any other material requisitions in accordance with the kiting procedure and all computer transactions to ensure count accuracy and full batch traceability.
  10. To control the transfer process from plant 1070 to plant 1069 moving material between sites when required.

 

Tasks Summary

  1. To confirm and goods receipt all production/purchase orders in a timely fashion.
  2. To advise purchasing to replenish consumable stock levels where these are not covered by automatic computer replenishment using the current agreed process.
  3. To investigate and resolve stock queries and update computer records accordingly.
  4. To carry out stock audits and special checks as required.
  5. To receive, store and issue stock and/or tools from the bonded stores using appropriate weigh count equipment in accordance with documents and instructions received.
  6. To assist all warehouse areas when required and process the related paperwork in accordance with instructions received, this could, if qualified, involve the operation of the Forklift truck.
  7. To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.
  8. Maintain cleanliness of the area and equipment while applying 5S+1.
  9. Flexibility required to work at short notice on overtime, in line with the business demand.
  10. To carry out any other reasonable task as may be requested from time to time.

Key Requirements

 

  • A good general all-round education preferably to GCSE standard. Ideally will have had experience in a factory warehouse environment.
  • SAP Knowledge is an advantage, forklift licence an advantage 
  • Computer skills
