Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Plating Teams operate assigned automated plating machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

Has an extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of plating process within the manufacturing environment. 
Process leader for plating related topics ensuring the processes is running at optimum levels for quality and output. An expert in reel to reel (preferred) or loose piece plating techniques. 
Interact with product development, manufacturing engineering and manufacturing/production.
Strong impact to drive new process development projects – driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and strives to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control.
Support research and development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, processes, product samples and prototypes.  
Designs and develops manufacturing process platforms and automation platforms and applies these for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production.
Supports manufacturability of new designs and existing designs and smooth production ramp up. 
Qualifies new lines or processes to meet quality and production standards. Initiates and implements programs to continuously improve quality, cost, and cycle time. 
Maintains and adheres to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements. Documents all processes.
Authority to propose the necessary training to improve the environmental management program. 
Carries out actions to reduce environmental impact, as well as activities for compliance with the ISO14001 standard.
Authority to stop a process in which there is the possibility of harming the environment or/and that is outside environmental legal compliance.

 

BS degree in Chemical Engineering or similar
5 - 8 years of experience in plating process
Effective communication
Problem Solving
Plating Troubleshooting analysis 
Strong knowledge of reel-to-reel plating processes
Water treatment knowledge (RO/DI and residual water)
Operation of specialized equipment (i.e. AA, UV-Vis, X-ray)
Chemical Knowledge
Measuring tools
Knowledge applicable to the position in IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
Knowledge of Safety and Environment Regulations and the environmental management system that apply to the company

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $94,000 – 140,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
