Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity's Solar Project Manager will be oversee  pre-contract and post management of all aspects of our utility scale solar projects. The Project Manager works with the business management team, TE support functions, vendors, customers, and field level construction managers in the execution of projects in support of the Company’s plan. The Solar Project Manager will also travel to meet with prospective clients to facilitate discussion on TE’s product portfolio and engineering services, as well as training field personnel. As a project manager, you will have planning, execution, and control in the development of new products and processes within the AMS Energy Renewable Team.

 

This is a Hybrid position at the Fuquay-Varina location 

 


Technical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process management: compliance with the LEANPD process and review of documentation including planning and development progress.
  • Communication: Development of a project-specific communication plan, holding weekly project meetings with customers, organizing regular internal project evaluations as required, compiling project progress reports, and steering and influencing the expectations of  stakeholders.
  • Planning: guidance and development of effective project plans, including key elements of project integration, scheduling, costs, risk management, communication, project quality, human resource planning, procurement management and task definition. Accountability escalation within the functions as needed.
  • Customer management: implementation of an integrated monitoring of change management processes, including the development of a change management procedure. Ability to construct engineered project take offs and other insight to alternate methods of layouts. Participate in proposal review and negotiation process.
  • Contract Management between customers and vendors. Provide risk management assessment along with project team to manage risks.
  • Manage project deliverable requirements to ensure current and future metrics are exceeding customer expectations and tracking delivery with customer cadence calls.
  • Ensure that engineering, procurement, construction, and logistics elements of projects are executed in a manner consistent with the as-sold expectations of company customers.
  • Monitor performance metrics, project schedules, delivery timelines of the project in accordance with company systems and practices with internal teams and within web-based software.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders. Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to persuade others towards a common goal, even in the absence of direct authority.
  • Commercial Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sales Acumen: you will help drive daily cadence with customers, assisting the team with all sales-related tasks, helping bring in new customers and the expansion of content with existing customers.
  • Analyze Americas solar market and provide trends in the industry. Proactively address open customer issues and work closely with internal groups to ensure that quotations, quality complaints, VOC, technical information is provided to the customer within certain timeframes. 
  • Develop and implement effective lead campaign strategies – outgoing calls and emails.
  • Development of sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project development efforts.
  • Identify and understand current and future customer needs and opportunities to introduce and sell products, services, and solutions to the customer.
  • Ability to discuss possible New Product Development to broaden the TE product portfolio.
  • Promote TE Energy technologies and product portfolio with the customer and drive projects.

What your background should look like:

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of Solar Industry or Energy experience or equivalent in education.
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling concepts, techniques, and software (AutoCAD). Working knowledge of office productivity software such as MS-Office suite, including advanced use of MS-Excel, PowerPoint, Note, and Visio. Additional knowledge of Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team.
  • Strong communication with both written and oral. Decision making ability. Strong  problem-solving ability and customer service with focus on  the customer.
  • Working knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices and procedures. Multi-project execution experience. Operations and manufacturing process knowledge is a plus. 
  • Ability to work with deadlines and targets.
  • Mobility: Flexibility in working days and travelling.
  • Travel requirement: 30-50%

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $$62,500 –$97,800(subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
