Your main tasks will be...
- Conduct in-depth R&D in the field of circuit protection and related physics domains of electro-magnetism, magnetic induction, contact physics and materials science
- Develop and implement models and simulations to understand and predict physical phenomena
- Investigate and analyze electromagnetic interactions and arcing phenomena in different setups and various conditions
- Study and optimize contact physics, including friction, wear, and surface interactions
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide insights and solutions for design challenges related to electro-magnetic systems
- Evaluate and recommend materials for specific applications based on their physical properties and performance under various conditions
- Investigate and model inductive coil and motor systems
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in physics, materials science, and related technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate physics insights into product development processes
- Build relationships with universities and technical experts active in this field
- Follow general industry trends, technology trends for xEV specifically
- Work closely together with Product Engineering, Product Management, Field Application Engineering
We are looking for someone with:
- Master / Ph.D. degree in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field
- Specialization and significant expertise in electro-magnetism, electromagnetic induction, contact physics or materials science
- Proven experience in conducting experimental and theoretical research in these domains
- Strong understanding of the physical principles governing electromagnetic interactions and induction phenomena and arcing
- Knowledge of materials properties, including mechanical, thermal, and electrical
- Familiarity with contact physics, tribology, and surface science
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with numerical methods and computational physics
- Understanding of material characterization techniques
- Good business acumen and sense of urgency in context of speed of innovation
- Experience in collaborating with engineering teams to implement physics-based solutions
