Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.

 

  • Defining a manufacturing roadmap which aligns both product strategy with customer demand
  • Driving operational excellence through the development and management of budgets, policies, procedures, and compliance activities
  • Drive Lean manufacturing strategies to achieve continuous improvements across areas such as Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
  • Develop and implement Sales & operational planning process to achieve superior operational efficiencies and Extraordinary Customer Experience (ECE)  
  • Drive strategic workforce planning strategies aligned to business needs as well as driving engagement initiatives at the site through strong focus on recognition
  • Developing and nurturing an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Roadmap
  • Identify and implement effective operations processes and technologies in alignment with relevant functions such as ME or Supply Chain
  • Lead and support development and transformation of the plant across all departments and functions to support the Business strategy 
  • Drive people management activities including hiring, training, coaching, professional development, performance management, compensation planning and employee relations for direct reports
  • Representing the site manufacturing activities when required
  • Managing working capital levels in line with business needs and commitments

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering is required
  • Minimum 7- 10 years’ experience within a global manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years operations management experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience with LEAN Manufacturing and LEAN Business Processes
  • Worked with different teams and has Regional/Global experience
  • Standards Knowledge - IATF 16949, EN 9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to building and motivate effective teams
  • Experience working with multiple customers and suppliers in a low volume high mix industry
  • Demonstrated experience leading factory transformation and project management leadership 
  • Knowledge of sales & operations planning and supply chain areas (inventory, materials planning, buying)
  • Strong communication skills with proven success in driving strategic vision and delivering results
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Strong organizational skills

Compensation

What TE Connectivity Internship Program offers
TE has a robust internship program that provides our interns with an abundance of resources to feel included as part of our Team.  Every summer we coordinate various educational and networking events for our interns. The TE University Relations team will be hosting virtual meetups, information sessions, tours, skill building presentations, and topping it off with National Intern Day celebration activities.

To help with their professional growth, we provide access to Mentors via our NAVIGATE platform. Mentors serve as a guide to navigate the organization and provide additional support in their career endeavors at the company. Our program provides a holistic experience for interns that targets professional development and personal growth. 

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10–12-week program, interns will be provided with:

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
