Job Overview

The Import/Export analyst is the US subject-matter-expert on global trade compliance. In this role, you will interface with multiple levels of the organization, provide training to employees, advise on best practices with leaders, and other responsibilities. This is in the Sensors business unit at TE Connectivity.

 

This role can be based at any TE site in the United States.

What you will be doing...

  • Sensor Import Responsibilities
    • Work with Sensor site Ops team to expedite clearance/delivery for Sensor US imports.
    • Main contact for UPS Supply Chain for large import consolidations for Hampton, Fremont, Andover & High Point).  Developed a relationship with UPS traffic/brokers/warehouse to ensure sensor sites are provided a high priority for delivery and arrange hot shots. 
    • Provide import clearance instructions for BDP, DHL, UPS  & Fedex for all US Sensor locations.
    • Maintain and provide FDA AOCs for medical sensor parts (Andover) to US Customs Brokers.
    • Maintain HTS code in FTC – as sensor parts become available in CPR. 
    • Respond to customer requests for HTS, Country of Origin, NAFTA/FTA Certificates
  • Sensor Export Responsibilities
    • Trade Compliance expert- applies US Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations to export approval/processes.
    • ECCN- Solely responsible contact for Product Line Mangers, Engineering, Document Control and Customer Care, to assign an ECCN to an individual custom part, specially designed part and/or catalog product line. 
    • The ECCN is documented in writing (due diligence for US Commerce Dept) and parts are coded in Xactman, SAP and FTC (as appropriate).
    • Complete customer required Export Control policy documents.
    • Maintain Technology Control Plan and internal processes as required.
    • Release contract compliance holds in SAP.
    • Release data blocks, denied parties and delivery order holds in a Trade Automation.
    • Process DPL quarterly screens for TESS Americas​​​​​​​
  • Sensor Trade Compliance
    • New Hire general export compliance trainer.
    • Develop training presentations related to current trade subject matter issues.
    • Customer Care order entry requirements for export sales orders
    • INCOTERMs training (Customer Care, Supply Chain, Shipping)

What your background should look like...

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5 years of experience in international trade for a manufacturing company
  • Candidate must have extensive regulatory and practical experience related to interpretation and compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the licensing and agreement guidelines of the U.S. Department (s) of State and Commerce.
  • Must have knowledge of the dynamics of international commerce including export/import processes, national and foreign statutory and regulatory provisions etc.
  • SAP experience is a plus
