Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s internship program is designed to provide interns with real world experience to enhance classroom knowledge. Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 – 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. At the end of the summer, interns will be provided the opportunity to pursue full-time placement within TE Connectivity.  

The Brantner & Associates, Inc d/b/a TE Connectivity MOG is seeking a candidate for a Manufacturing Engineer Intern. This position reports to the Plant Manager and will be located in Bellville, Texas

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and implement the layout of operational work areas to eliminate process waste.
  • Interpret and translate technical requirements for process operators as needed.
  • Maintain, improve, and create assembly/test work instructions, and Tool/Fixture plans to produce conforming equipment per technical specification.
  • Development and improvement of manufacturing documentation and controls, i.e. routers, BOM’s, and manufacturing standards.
  • Work with Engineering to address issues that arise with compatibility, mating, tolerances, or failed test results during assembly and test operations. Assist with root cause and failure mode analysis.
  • Engage with operators to identify challenges, waste, gaps in knowledge, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for lead-time / cost reductions. present recommendations to management for inclusion into productivity pipeline.

 

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Program, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University or College for the duration of the Internship

 

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, SAP, CAD software including Solid Works, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA preferred.
