Job Overview

The Harness Maker Sales Manager (HMSM) is responsible for the maintenance and development of existing and new business opportunities within the Tier 1 Harness Maker market.  Further, the HMSM defines the growth strategy, implementation, and execution plans for advancing the company’s products to meet their respective Harness Maker industry customer’s demands.  Additionally, the HMISM needs to understand and communicate trends, regulations, and requirements of this industry segment that could impact future sales and product development. HMISMs are responsible for promoting TE technology and capabilities to position TE for long-term growth, communicate VOC to internal stakeholders, managing Tier 1 programs from concept to completion, and set strategic vision of the Harness Maker industry to key stakeholders and sales team members. 

Your responsibilities

•    Create strategic Harness Maker industry plans for respective sales regions.
•    Research and develop the data for PAM, TAM, SAM that will be utilized in developing a Harness Maker industry growth strategy. 
•    Identify competitive landscape and ability to perform competitive analysis.
•    Negotiate contracts, pricing, supply agreements, and potential line down claims against TE. Interact with customers at all levels.
•    Utilize influencing skills through relationship management, strong communication, and synthesize information in a coherent and impactful way.
•    Act as a role model and championing a diverse workforce through inclusion and development per TE values.
•    Build customer partnerships by continually demonstrating a strong TE value proposition and ECE.
•    Identify, track, and communicate key industry trends across regions and markets that affect business segments.
•    Determine actions after reviewing dashboards and as appropriate may direct work to other functions.  Will communicate priorities to next level manager.
•    Synthesize the results of the Voice of the Customer's and communicate impact to internal stakeholders. Including development of solutions and influencing business directions.
•    Understand industry PAM, TAM, SAM and market influencers and conditions.  
•    Drive/influence our current/future product positioning to gain or re-gain market share.   This also includes identifying the right selling methodology.  
•    Understand key components of a Competitive Landscape: customers’ needs and how you can address those needs; how you compare against your competitors in meeting those needs.  
•    Drive brand awareness and positioning with our customers (solutions and capabilities).

What your background should look like:

•    5+ years of sales management experience 
•    Relevant product or industry experience desired
•    Strategic Planning / Forecasting skills
•    Bachelors technical or business degree required
•    Advanced degree (MBA) or relevant P&L management experience preferred
