Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing connector systems for industrial and commercial transportation applications based on customer requirements.
- Conducting detailed mechanical design work, including 3D modeling, proposal/detailed drawings, and initiating simulations (e.g., thermal and stress).
- Selecting standard parts, features, and materials according to internal guidelines to meet internal/customer targets for process and cost.
- Preparing and presenting design reviews for manufacturability, updating designs based on suggestions, and maintaining records.
- Handling design change requests promptly.
What your background should look like:
Education/Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Preferred exposure to various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, plating, die-casting, component assembly).
- Experience with connector types (electro-mechanical parts) and knowledge of signal integrity and protection methods.
- Understanding of product realization phases and product development.
- Proficiency in design tools like Creo Parametric, GD&T, and simulation software.
Critical Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in designing and developing products, preferably in plastic and sheet metal parts, with experience in the connector industry being advantageous.
- Good knowledge of Creo software, PDM Windchill, and product lifecycle management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and strong conceptual, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication across multicultural groups, self-motivated, adaptive, and a good team player.
- Strong technical aptitude, willingness to learn new technologies quickly, and experience in a fast-paced, changing environment.
